Guest guest
Dear Sri Adisesh Iyengar Swami, adiyEn appreciates your effort in uploading Swami Abhinava Desikan's book for everyone to use. But adiyEn would like to know if devarIr got permission from Swami's KumArAs (sons) before uploading for public access. Already many of these books are very cheap and lot of them are stacked in Swami's TirumAligai without interested buyers. This kind of uploading would just make things worse. At least if the copyright holders have given consent, it would be acceptable. But in this instance, adiyEn is informed that it is not the case. May adiyEn request you to kindly remove the book from public access. We recently initialed an effort to digitize Swami's books but just paused due to some unexpected reasons. With Swami's Anugraham, we will be continuing it soon. If you or anybody else wants to participate in anyway, we welcome them. But please refrain from uploading copyrighted works without the consent of the copyright holder(s). Dear Sri Satakopan Mama, Over the years we have seen lot of such copyright violations and public access of such works being encouraged by some members. But is there a way to ensure that Oppiliappan group does not encourage such violations. adiyEn understands that due to the sheer volume of emails and your untiring likhita kaimkaryam it may not be possible to screen every email. But something needs to be done about this. dAsan Srivatsan On Thu, Feb 12, 2009 at 8:38 PM, adisesh92 <adisesh92 wrote: > Dear Srivaisnavas, > > Please visit > http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=c8ac0b013d417de591b20cc0d07ba4d2fe0e4192d6972\ 65b > to download " Upanishadartha SAngraham " by Abhinava Desikan U.Ve Sri Uthamoor > Tirumalai Nallan Chakravathi Veeragavacharya Mah Desikan. > > > Veenum Dasan > Adisesh Iyengar > +91990864675 > >
Guest guest
Respested Subhashini It is my submission that the books of great people like Uttamur Swami are put on public domain by their familiesfor free access as quickly as possible . Alerady very few people buy, read such books and treating these books as family property is right yet does not serve the very purpose for which they were written by such scholars. I request you to take the lead in this and let others follow. we rarely see the threats to our traditions and Hindusim in geenral and making good books available free to the " few " now interesed can make access possibel for " many " in due course. even the Geetha Press of gorakhpur has started subsidsing hard copy books. This is in regard to your sharing of a link of an electronic format of the book titled 'Upanishad Artha Sangraha' by Sri Uttamur Swami. > > As long as you preserve a copy of these copyrighted books, i can appreciate your efforts to do so for your personal use. May be, many people will be benefitted from this pdf being circulated all over but i think people who do so are also the heartless and shameless ones who have no sense of the so called Ethics of a Srivaishnavite first of all, and not an ounce of gratitude for the efforts put by Sri Swami in publishing the book, second of all. > > Am surprised to see people talk of the Sampradaya so much but the basic things like ethics and codes of life is washed out in the drain with no or less conscience, which in turn is reflected by such deeds of PIRACY, taking advantage of the few cyber ignorant people. > > Are we really helping the Sampradaya and the people who really struggled for the Desika's Sampradaya this way? Is this the right way to show our gratitude to them who have thrown us the light on the paths of Sri Ramanuja and Swami Desika? And is this the way of life prescribed in the book that you have uploaded which gives the gist of all the Upanishads, Sir? > > If you are a true Srivaishnava and a true follower of our preceptors, your true conscience will tell you your next steps. > > In case you are not one, then I want you to remove the Pdf files of Sri Uttamur Swami's books and also the other copyrighted material that you have hosted without the owner's permission and a letter of apology for doing the same to all the ones you have forwarded the link of Sri Swami's book. > > My humble submission to you Sri. Adisesh Iyengar, is if we cannot do something good to the community, lets not spoil and set an example for a series of wrong deeds.
