Travel tips

 

This temple is situated at western ghat near srivilliputhur and surrounded by a dense forest like sabarimala temple.

 

Otherside of azagar hill-top , there is a narrow path goes to Kerala but nobody wants to take risk, because of forest elephants and buffalows.

 

V have to go this area with a group of 10 peoples and V should take water with us , since there is no water in between senbagathoppu and silambaru Mandap.

 

During the walk v can see number of hand written mark i.e. thiruman on stones and on middle part of the trees , which will lead u to this temple from 2nd water bed (where toyotto Innova stands in our photo) of senbagathoppu to azhagar temple.

 

Except this bed , there is no area for reversing our car . so v have to leave our 4 wheelers here only. From senbagathoopu to 2nd water bed , there are number of tree branches which will make scratches on our car body. After return v have to spend Rs4000/- for remove these scratches.

 

If u want to avoid this , then u leave your car at Senbagathoppu itself.(1 km before 2nd water bed).

2.Senbagathoppu to 2nd water bed(1 Km)

3.2nd Water bed to Silambaru Mandap(5 Kms)

4.Silambaru Mandap to Temple(247 steps)

Darshan on Saturday & Sunday only except rainy season(Time 6.30 a.m to 4.30 p.m)
