Dear Bhagawatas,Recently i have undergone Open Heart Surgery (20 days back), i am in bed rest now. Before surgery the doctors asked me to remove the sacred thread (poonal) and all other things which were on the body. Now I am without poonal, i intend to wear it again i.e., say after 15 days, because my stiches has not yet healed. Can anyone suggest me the procedure to wear the poonal again (I am a Gruhasta), do i follow a long rituals or just as we change like normal days. please adivise.Adiyen Ramanuja Dasan,Raghuraman.

Dear Swamin,

You can put on new pooNals, just like you do normally.

No special long ritual is needed.

Wish you a speedy recovery.

SrI:

Daer Sri Raghuraman : This was an emergency . You can wear the twin set of Yajn~Opaveetam with the normal sanlkalpam .

If the new set of Yajn~Opaveetham can be blessed with the touch of Your AchAryan , it will be very good. Incase you are

unable to get this done thru family or friends , Please have the new set of Yajn~Opaveetham placed at the sacred feet of

EmperumAn from a temple near you and then wear it .

Please place AchAryan's Phala MantrAkshatai under your pillow in an envelope for Rakshaa.

With prayers for your rapid convalescence ,

NamO SrI NrisimhAya,

V.Sadagopan
