Here are some answers based purely upon adiyEn limited understanding of sampradayam heard from paNditAs including paNditA's paNditA, Srimad Azhagiya Singar. But first. many thanks for the beautiful introductions from Srimans, Malolan Cadammi, Sudarshan, Venugopalan, and Ravikumar. > > CAN ADIYEN START WITH A REQUEST FOR CLARIFICATION PLEASE ! > > 1) is it not strange that we offer as Nivedhyam to our Lord, what entirely > and solely belongs to him ? In adiyEn's humble opinion this act will be extremely pleasing to the Lord. Think of the presents we get from our children. Since they spend our money buying the present, and rely on us to even go to the store, the gift belongs to us solely and entirely. Yet, when the child gives it to us we do not feel strange, only immensely happy. Perhaps we need to take this analogy a little further to be more appropriate. Consider a teenager who gets a regular allowance. The teenager has the independence to do what he pleases with that money. Whatever the teenager spends the money on, it belongs solely and entirely to us. If he spends it in a way that is pleasing to us we will surely be very happy. Similarly, even though everything belongs to the Lord solely and entirely, the loving offering we make to the Lord is appropriate and will be pleasing to the Lord. > 2) since Sriman Narayan is present as antharyami in all chits and achits , > how are we permitted to breathe the air , drink water , eat food , wear > cloths etc. , as all these achetana vasthus are also likely to > have our Lord as antharyami? It is possible that you are referring to Antharyami Avatharam of the Lord about which we recently had a detailed discussion. The Lord is present with a suddha satva thirumEni as Antharyami in the middle of the heart only for humans, not even animals let alone achit. This concept is different from the concept of the Lord being the inner soul of everything by the fact that the Lord is the Dharakan, Niyamagan, and Seshi of everything, naturally and always. This three fold relationship makes the Lord the super soul that ensouls (antharyami) everything else in the dual-universe. -- adiyEn ramanuja dasan srimad azhagiya singar rthiruvadigaLE saraNam p.s. if there is any error in the above it is purely attributable to adiyEn's faulty understanding and/or recollection. Guest guest
Sri: Srimathe Gopaladesika Mahadesikaya Namah: Dearest Srivaishnava Bhagawathas, adiyEn's dhaNdavath praNAmams. Reading the nice introductions make us feel, how merciful our Sriya: Pathi Sriman Narayanan is. What have we done to be born as srivaishnavas, -let alone Srivaishnavas,- as human beings, first..? (aRidhu aRidhu; maanidaraayp piRatthal aRidhu; adhilum Srivaishnavanaaga piRatthal aRidhu) What a karuNA moorthy is He to have blessed us with such crystal clear srivaishnava sampradayam, unambiguous Visishtadvaitha philosophy, ; with such AchArya paramapara right from Sriman Narayanan Himself! What krupai of His to bless us with such SadAchArya sambhandhams and made us surrender at the feet of AchAryan to perform prapatti! Despite knowing all our apacharams, our history from time immemorial, our paapams, that can be in tons and tons, He is still so merciful. What a dayai to bless us with such Srivaishnava Bhagawathas, to get together across the world through the most modern equipment (PCs)! Lastly, what a krupai of His to send us (at Singapore), a Srivaishnava, who has studied all nine works of Ramanuja's, who has studied Srimad Rahasyathrayasaram, Bhagavadh Vishayam, and above all, who has no airs, who is completely unassuming (as against adiyEn- who keeps the head high because, I know Pallandu by heart), who speaks in our language, who stops only for breathing while delivering upanyasams- He is none other than Simhapuri Vak amrutha varshI, Sri Hari. The same is echoed by Swamy Desikan in his upakara sangraham. Again, what is that which is not covered by our AchArya saarvabhouman Thooppul PiLLai? Being born in that Srivaishnava kulam, are we deserving at all to be recipient of such a benevolent grace from You, KaNNA? ellam un karuNai.. un dhayai.. un krupai... un anugraham.. To write this even is His grace. adhuvum avanadhu innaruLE! Regards Narayana Narayana adiyEn
Guest guest
Dear Sri.Anand, Thanks a lot for admitting me into malolan net group.Permit me to provide a brief introduction on myself. Adiyen is 48 years of age and hails from a Srivaishnava family who are natives of Kumbakonam. We are followers of U.Ve.Agnihotram Ramunaja Tathachariar Swami, who had most graciously performed Samasrayanam and Bharanyasam for Adiyen. We are of Koundinya gotram - who in Agnihotram Swami's words, have travelled as far as Indonesia, even during the vedic periods-. Adiyen was born in Srirangam, but was brought up for the larger part of my formative years in Srirangam, Kumbakonam,Jabalpur, Delhi,Calcutta and Trivandrum. Adiyen is a product of National College, Trichy. Adiyen had worked as a credit analyst in Delhi, Madras & Hyderabad and currently have my own business in promotionals. Adiyen has been blessed with a daughter and a son.Adiyen's wife heads a software company at Bangalore. Adiyen is settled at Bangalore since the 1970's. Adiyen's interest in Srivaishnavism is of recent orgin - since May '96 -to be precise - after Adiyen's remarkable anubhavam of Thirumalayam.I think I can only add to the ranks of aspiring srivaishnavas eager to learn a lot about our darshanam.Besides it is adiyen's burning desire to contribute in someway or other for the darshanam in general and the Srivaishanava community in general.Even though I may not have the necessary qualification for this,I would atleast like to replicate a Sabhari or worst come worst, the vanaras of Lord.Srirama's sainyam. Before signing off, adiyen cannot but help recall the anubhavam of Thondaradipodi azhwar in " Thirumalai " wherein the azhwar describes himself as the lowest of low having no desirable qualities. If this is how the azhwar wants to call himself, want can I say about myself. Dear devotees, Just a small note ... > SrI Dileepan wrote : > It is possible that you are referring to Antharyami > Avatharam of the Lord about which we recently had > a detailed discussion. The Lord is present with > a suddha satva thirumEni as Antharyami in the middle > of the heart only for humans, not even animals let > alone achit. Sometimes it is told casually that antaryAmi avatAram is taken by SrIman nArAyaNa only in the hearts of humans. It is told like that since humans are the immediete audience and to stress that it is not present in animals. But, it does not actually mean that antaryAmi avatAram is not present in the hearts of dEvas. In the recent thread on this issue, aDiyEn quoted from Brahma SUtra to this effect. Another reference from Azhagiyasingar's SrImad RTS VivaraNam (Pg 274) is given below : " vuyardiNai - manushyarkaL dEvargaL mudaliyanavAgum yenRu poduvAna lakshaNatthai koLLalAm " . ie. " the vuyardiNai (a tamil grammar concept) entities <for which antaryAmi avatAram is present> can be taken to mean humans and dEvas " . aDiyEn rAmAnuja dAsan, KOmAndUr ELayavilli (BAladhanvi) KaralapAkkam anantapadmanAbhan krishNArpaNam.
