Guest guest
NErakathAi-neduvarayin vuchi mElAi Every soul conversant with TirunedunthANTakam will know that the eighth pAsuram, namely 'nEragathAi-neduvarayin vuchi mElAi nilAthingaL thuNDathAi...' is chanted twice. 'நீரகதà¯à®¤à®¾à®¯à¯ நெடà¯à®µà®°à¯ˆà®¯à®¿à®©à¯ உசà¯à®šà®¿ மேலாயà¯....’ திரà¯à®¨à¯†à®Ÿà¯à®¨à¯à®¤à®¾à®£à¯à®Ÿà®•à®®à¯ ௮ Wihtout even thinking twice i presumed that this is due to the chanting of several divya desam-s of kAnchipuram in tandem. Perhaps, attirbuting importance to these divine places, this pAsuram is chanted twice. A few years back, one of fellow SrivaishNavites who is well versed in arulich cheyal rendition ( and not much conversant with vyAkyAnam-s /at least that was my assumption till then) mentioned to me that it was ironical that people think that these divya desams are bing eulogised in this pAsuram. On the contrary, he continued, that it is the attributes of all these places that the EmperumAn at TirukkOyilur is in fact having. In fact, he went on to underline the fact that, the chanting of twice of this particular pAsuram is just not about giving importance to thse divya desams but to give greater emphasis on ThirukkOyilur Ayan. A deeper study into the vyAkyanam made adiyean realise that what he said was indeed extremely true. Going by Sri PeriyavAchAn PiLLai s vyAkyAnam , he is hundred percent true and it not only transformed by view point on supposedly limited knowledge of these SrivaishNavites, whom all along I had thought had only superficial knowledge of vyAkyAnams and lO! they are reeling out facts from the core commentary. In fact, this was an eye opener. Let us go deeper into this aspect. dasan vanamamalai padmanabhan
