ArchAvathAram - A Roadblock to Parama-Bakthi?Yesterday,while I was flying from financial capital to Policital Capital of Bharath,  i was listening to a wonderful song of naushad

This was in excellent MalkOnes- the Hindustani version of HindoLam , infact HindhOlam is adapted from Hindustani.

 

This took my thoughts towards Vrindhavan where Rasa leela took place and maidens suffered from separation.

 

ANDAL thiruppAvai vyAkyAna avathArikai refers to this anukkAram which is one of the means of sustaining oneself.

 

To sufffer from pangs of separation from Lord is  the state of parama bakthi.

 

Why are we not yearning for the Lord ? Why do we not desire to be with Him like these devotees?

 

Leave alone AnDAL or AzVAr -s do not we possess the sincere devoion of GopikAs.

 

If, the materialistic people who had not tasted our SrivaIshNavic

spiritual pursuit did not yearn for Him, it is fully acceptable.

However, souls like us, who are neither here not here, are blissfully

happy despite His non presence amidst us.This train of thoughts was passing thorugh my mind  and made me dwelve deeper into this apsect.If we are really attached to Him, we should be eagerly longing for His presence instead clinging in this worldy affairs.

Where do we lack? Or do we lack at all.It is said that Azvars are predominated by bakthi pAravasyam and AchAryas by gnAnam.Be it so, but why dont we at least desire His presence like we always like the presence of our close kith and kin.

Does it mean that we are not a devout class but like mundane devotees visitiing temples routinely and to just decimate our sins and trying to recompnese for our misdeeds?(to be continued)dasanvanamamalai padmanabhan
