Guest guest
THE ARULIC-CEYAL GOSHTIHaving seen that the aruLi-c-ceyal gOshti has got insperable connexion with EmperumAn let us for a moment concentrate on composition of aruLi-c-ceyal gOshti. In my younger days, i used to think that this gOshti used to be packed with those who are in aruLi-c ceyal as full time and full time adhyApakas and my imagination always then went to people aged above 60. I realised my folly only when I visited TiruvallikkEaNi goshti , The AzvAr Tirunagari SamprOkshaNam in early nineties and of course Sri Ram Mandir , New Delhi. The composition age is from youngest boy to the eldest soul. These blessed ones are from various walks of life. Some are full time adhyApaks. Some are professors and lecurerers. Some work in Governmen office in very hihg positions. There are professionals like advocates, software engineers , chartered accountants, cost accountants, mbas..Privatre sector employees and the typical class -the bankers. Of course, we can also find whole time upAdyAya-s also in this elite class. My God!. this is in sharp contrast to what i had imagined. These people assemble at least 15/30 minutes before EmperumAns puRappADu. Srirangam SripAdha thangigaL and presently Even ThiruvallikEaNi Sri Padha thangikaL and Srirangam VEDha gOshti aslo from the various walks of life seen above. We also understand that araiyar families also work in offices in very decent position. This is the stark reality. Several years back, Sri Parthasarathy TiruthEar GOshti had to take place at 4pm instead of 7 am.It was wokring day and one would have thought of lean attendance but lO! one shoud have seen at the crowd at 3.30 pm. Sometimes one wonders how these people manage time. In Delhi Sri Ram Mandir, under secretaries, joint sercreataries, sometimes even chief election commissioner (day before yesterday chief elecion commisioner attened the gOshti-parlimament executives , ministerial staff) all are part of the gOshti. In all other places, this the state of affairs except in few divya desams- like VanAmalai and Tiru-k-kurunkudi the old tradition continues.(to be continued)dasanvanamamalai padmaabhan
