Guest guest
Namaskarams, It looks like this year there seems to be a conflict in Deepavali dates because it falls within Purattasi. Any one to clarify on that front? Thanks and Regards, -- Deepak Kumar Vasudevan

Guest guest
Dear Swamin,It is the decided opinion of Srimad Azhagiasingar that Naraka Chaturdasi Snanam is to be observed this year only on Saturday 14th November late night (early morning of Sunday 15th in terms of western calculation) . The Dipavali Festival is to be observed on Sunday 15th morning. As explained in Sri Nrisimhapriya (Tamil) of Avani and Purattasi, this decision is based on authoritative opinions of U.Ve Navalpakkam Ayya Devanathan Swami and U.Ve. Melpakkam Swami. This notice has also been given on page 10 0f October issue of Sri NRISIMHAPRYA (E).Adiyen has been advised to inform all Sri Sannidhi Sishyas that there is NO CHANGE IN THIS decision of HH. All Sri Sannidhi Sishyas are requested to ignore rumours and gossip to the contrary.May I request you to circulate this information to all Sri Sannidhi sishyas in USA immediately and request them to adhere to our Acharyan's decision. With respectful regards,T.G. Guest guest
SrI: Dear Sri Ravi : PanchAngams are notorious for inconsistencies based on what calendar system that is being used ( Dhrug , Vaakya etc) for computation of tithi, Nakshatram , Solar or Lunar system . Hence it is better that we do bot recommend any universal calendar for India . The PanchAngam experts at various Matams and Asramams decide each year taking into account any specialties and determine . My note refers to what has been recommended by the AchAryAs of Ahobila Matam for its sishyAs . Guest guest
Dear All, With due respect to all, I want to mention here that why we call our festival dates are conflicting while our Indian Calendar is more accurate one as compared to the English Calendar with which we are comparing. In actual our calendar takes into consideration even the fraction of time difference and has divided all month equally in whole year so sometimes our dates (TITHIS) crosses to next day or till next afternoon etc. While the English Calendar has been adjusted by dividing the months in 30 and 31 days and 28-29 days February. So, the English Calendar is actually may be easy in use but our Calendar is accurate. Proud to be the part of Hinduism.
