Also, we believe that Ramayana happened in Treta Yuga. Kali Yuga started Feb 14, 3102 BCE Before that, we had 864,000 years of Dwapara Yuga, which followed 1.728 million years of Treta Yuga. As per our scriptures, age of Ramayana is at least 890,000 plus years back! Thus, While some findings between modern Science and Valmiki Ramayana are interesting, we should not use them as the basis. If we take Jan 10, 5114 BCE, we will have to throw out a lot from our heritage. For people who are there to degrade our heritage, nothing will convince. For others, nothing should matter. Bhagavad-Gita says that the message was taught to Vivasvat (sun). That was not the first time either! Our religion is sanatana dharma = Eternal truth Anaadi and ananta (without beginning and without end). As exciting as it may be, let us not try to count number of grains of sand in Kalahari desert. It will only lead to "kalahams" = conflicts. Guest guest Posted January 11, 2010 Report Share Posted January 11, 2010 Adiyen, The sad thing is, we trust the foolish person saying "man came from ape", we trust the idiotic sayings of politicians, we trust our friends, who will always leave us when we are in danger, we trust our wife, kids and relations, who will never even respect us if we dont have a penny, BUT, WE ARE thinking a lot to trust the words of our poorvacharyas, like Swami Emperumanaar, Swami Koorathazhwan,Swami Desikan, Swami Pillai Lokacharya, Swami Parasara Bhattar , etc who dedicated there lives not for them, FOR US, for the upliftment of us, WHO ALWAYS PROVED Perumal in their whole life, THey are not manava purushas(ordinary people) They are MAHA purushas, their knowledge is un doubtfull, they had very very vast Gnana(Knowledge). It is our Duty to follow what our poorvas told.
