The presiding deity here is Sri Vayyam Kaatha perumal, also called Uyyanthavar or Jegat rakshakan (one who protects the world) in standing posture. . Thayar here is known as Padmaasani or pushpavalli thayar.The temple is around 25 kms from Kumbakonam and can be reached by travelling in buses plying to Thiruvaiyaru AdisayamThere is a jackfruit tree behind the main sannadhi and there is a big conch (shanku) like formation on it that is said to have formed naturally when it was being planned to cut down a portion of the tree for renovation purpose. The formation is covered with turmeric for identification.. View and enjoy the miracle and divine grace.
