Commencement of Veda Vedantha Vaijayanthi Patasala and Book Release

Sri P.B. ANNANGARACHARIAR swami is a towering personality in Sri Vaishnava Sampradayam. He has devoted his entire life for the Sampradayam by traveling throughout the length and breadth of the country and performing religious discourses. He was awarded with the title MahaMahimopadyaya by University of Prayag, for his in-depth knowledge in Sanskrit and he was also awarded with PadmaVibhushan by the Government of India, His service to our Sampradayam is indeed unique and uncomparable. He has written around 1200 books in four different languages, which are simple and lucid elaboration of works of our Purvacharyas. His Divyartha Deepikai which is a commentary for the 4000 Divya Prabandam based on the works of the Purvacharyas is the light, which removes the darkness of ignorance and brings light in the life of Sri Vaishnavas. Swami was running

a Patasala to teach 4000 Divya prabandam, Vedas, Upanishads and Purvacharya Stotras and enable lot of Sri Vaishnavas to indulge in Emperuman’s kainkaryam. Patasala was suspended due to several constraints. Most of the books authored by him are also now out of print. Since the present situation demands the need for reprint of his books and to cultivate the philosophical values in the young mind, it has been decided to reprint the books and commence the Veda Vedantha Vaijayanthi Patashala from 6th of April 2007, which happens to be 116th birthday of Sri P B Annangarachariar swami.Swami’s Thirunakshatram is celebrated every year in his residence for seven days, during which Veda parayanam, Arulicheyal and stotra padam are chanted at his Tirumaligai and Sri Vaishnava

Thadhiyaradhanai is also performed. In order to revive the above kainkaryams a trust by name Sri Kanchi P B A Swami trust is created by the family members and ardent disciples of our Swami to continue running the Patasala and reprint of books. Swami’s 116th Birthday falls on 6th of April 2007 and it has been decided to commence the Patasala from his birthday and 2 books (Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam and Nityanusandaya Stotra Mala with commentaries) will be released on the same day. An Audio CD of MP3 format will also be released containing Nityanusandaya stotras recited by Sri P B Ranganathachariar swami, Sri P B Rajahamsachariar swami, Sri T A Srinidhi swami and Sri P B Sampathkumar swami. All devotees are hereby invited to attend the said function, which will be held at Sri Kanchi P B Annangarachariar Swami Thirumaligai, 40/29, South Mada Street, Little Kancheepuram, 631501. The Thirunakshatra function commences from 31st March 2007 and concludes on 6th April 2007. The trust is looking for generous contributions for the aforesaid kainkaryams.
