His real name is notknown. Kshathrabandhu means the lowest person amongst Kshatriyas. Because of his lowly character, he was called Kshathrabandhu. Unable to tolerate his behaviour the people of the kingdom chased him into the forest. Even in the forest he continued in his ways of torturing others. One time, a rishi came into the forest where Kshathrabandhu was staying. Due to the extreme heat, he became very thirsty. Seeing a pond he went there to drink the water, slipped and fell into the pond. When Kshathrabandhu saw this, somehow he felt pity on the rishiand pulled him out of the pond. Then he gave him

something to eat andmassaged his body. The rishi woke up and asked Kshathrabandhu his story and why he wasliving in such a forest. Kshathrabandhu told him his entire historywithout hiding anything. Wishing to correct him, the rishi gave himsome very good advise. Kshathrabandhu replied "O Rishi! My bad naturewas born with me and will not leave me. There is no point trying to make me a better person". The rishi then taught him the Lord's divine name Govinda which is made of three aksharas. He then told Kshathrabandhu to keep repeating this nAma even if he continues in his bad ways. From that day onward, Kshathrabandhu started repeating the Lord'sname all the time. Because of that, after his death, he was rebornas a Brahmin and became an ardent devotee of the Lord. After that,he attained the Lord's feet. His story has been sung by

Thondaradippodi Azhvar in his Thirumaalai. Thirukkolur Ammal is asking "Did I spend my time saying the Lord's name made up of three aksharas, like Kshathrabandhu?" Adiyen Sri Vaishnava dasi.

all sri vaishnavas are aware of the fact htat Emperuman has many Kalyana gunangal, out of which Swaithvam is akalyan gunam which shows that he is the leader & we all are his seshaboothas, if that is true then, why is that he is not dominating us all times for eg.sometimes we do thiruvaradhana at 8.00a.m,sometimes we do it at 10.a.m.(i.e. ) as per our convenience we pray or do the daily duties that we owe him,why doesn't he show his swamithvam?. ....? A very rich person who allways lives in a palace stays in a hut near his paddy field during the harvest time.just because he stays in hut it doesn't mean that he does not own the palace.it is because it is his duty to protect his crops.similarly he accepts all that we offer not showing his swamithvamto protect us.(nama ellam avan sothhu nammai samrakshika vendum enpathrgaga sowlabyanay irrukiran.)
