Bangalore will be witnessing a very rare event in the month of April 2007.Under the leadership of SHROUTHA PRATHISTANA,different Vedic Institutions and Scientific Organisations will be converging in the premises of POORNA PRAJNA VIDYA PEETHAM,to participate the highest Vedic ritual(yaga) for ten days from 17.4.2007 to 26.4.2007. Yaga-Yagna can be explained as a sacrifice in which a variety of materials are offered to gods to propitiate them in return for their blessings to accomplish universal welfare as well as individual welfare. This Yaga aims at achieving two fold objectives viz., universal peace,progress,prosperity and scientific study of Yaga,to assess its impact on humans,animals,plants and environment. Highly qualified rithwiks(Scholars) drawn from different parts of Karnataka state will be performing the yaga strictly in accordance with Shroutha tradition.Simultaneously four Veda Samhitha Homas will be conducted at the same

place. The most interesting features of this event will be ten day Vedic Seminar and Vedic Exhibition,release of CD's of rare and useful texts .Honouring Vedic scholars and Scientists who have rendered extra –ordinary services for promoting the cause of Vedic Culture is highlight of the program. To facilitate the public to follow the different procedures and significant stages of yaga ,commentaries in Kannada,Sanskrit and English will be given.Several heads of spiritual leaders will be giving benedictory addresses. The Reception Committee is headed by Justice Sri M N Venkatachalaiah,Former Chief Justice of India. OMSHANTIDHAMA,SRI GURURAJA SEVA SAMITHI AND SHROUTHA SASTRA PARISHAD OF Kerala will be extending full cooperation and Shastreeya as well as scientific support. Traditions and whose magnum opus AGNI still remains the authority on the vedic rituals from Agnistoma to Apthoryama Somayaga.
