It is my pleasure to let you all know that

Srimath Azhagiya Singar's Health is improving

slowly . He is able to attend to His Aasramam

responsibilities . The KaimkaryaparALs and the Doctors

are taking very good care .

 

After Srimath Azhagiya Singar's trip to Thirumala

for the Annamayyaa Vardhanthi celebrations and

MangaLAsAsanam of Malayappa Swamy , Srimath

Azhagiya Singar returned to SelayUr safely .

 

Saint AnnamAchArya and the Founding Jeeyar of Sri Matam

 

Sri AnnamAchArya was a key and early disciple of Sri Adhi VaNN

SaThakOpa Jeeyar at Thirumala . Sri AnnamAchArya

stayed for many years with Sri Adhi VaNN SathakOpa

Jeeyar and performed AchArya Kaimkaryams , while

attending to Ubhaya VedAntha KaalakshEpams there .

Annamayya learnt about the esoteric doctrines of

VisishtAdhvaitham and SaraNAgathy from the Great

Jeeyar , who had recieved SanyAsAsramam from

the Lord of Ahobilam Himself . Steeped in AchArya

and Bahgavath Bhakthi , Annamayya offered atleast

one song per day at the Sannidhi of Sri VenkatEsa .

He composed keerthanams on the Lord of Thirumala ,

Ahobilam , AchArya RaamAnuja and Adhi VaNN SaThakOpa

Jeeyar in addition to many sankeerthanams on AlamelumangA

ThAyAr , who nourished him with Bhagavath PrasAdham ,

when he had fained by the roadside during his climb

to Thirumala,

 

In one of the Sankeerthanams about his AchAryan ,

Annamayya says (Translation :Ambika Ananth &

Advitheeya Dixit ):

 

" Behold ! He is easily approachable by all !

Hari is the constant companion of this Sage

He is the golden pathway to the final destination

He is the sole personification of Purity .

 

To Viraja , He is the Boat

He is the brilliant lamp that provides effulgernce to the World .

He is the raft to cross the ocean of SamsAra .

 

The Lord of Srirangam , Lord Varada of Kaanchi

Lord Narasimha of Ahobilam--these being His supreme goal

Here He is , Sri SaThakOpa Muni ! "

 

To celebrate this specail AchArya-Sishya Sambhandham , the SishyA's

Prapatthi at the sacred feet of Malolan with the intercession of

Adhi VaNN SaThakOpa Jeeyar and the divine interaction between

these two great MahAthmAs and the simultaneous presence

of both at Thirumala to serve the Lord , the annual Vardhanthi

celebrations have been conducted in presence of the Azhagiya Singars .

Prakrutham Azhagiya Singar took part in this year's vardhanthi

as is the custom at Thirumala and Sri Matam .

 

2. AarAdhanam with 1,000 Lotus Flowers :

 

Today , Sriamth Azhagiya Singar is taking part in

a special AarAdhanam for SelayUr Sri Malola

Lakshmi Narasimhan Sannidhi WITH TOUSAND

LOTUS FLOWERS .

 

Among all the flowers used in Archanaa for

the Lord , Kanaka (Golden) and Lotus flowers

head the list of the most sacred flowers

according to Aagama Saasthrams .

 

Even the thought of assembling 1,000 red lotuses and

using them in the worship of the Lord is a superhuman

task . That was accomplished by Srimath Azhagiya Singar

today at SelayUr .

 

You might recall that this Sannidhi was created by

Srimath Azhagiya Singar few years ago to serve as

a focal point for BhakthAs to assemble for worship ,

when He is away on SanchAram . The PrathishtA

Dina uthsavam for three days was completed on Feb 9

with Sri Nrusimha Sudarsana Japa Homam and Sri

PaadhukA Sahasra PaarAyaNam by SelayUr ANDALGhoshti .

 

The Moola Moorthy at this Sannidhi is as large as

the MalOlan in Ahobilam and gives us His benovolent

darsanam with a five headed Aadhi Seshan and

Garudan at His foot step . This Malolan also adorns

His PaadhukA .

 

3. The deep desire for a New Kaimkaryam in 2007

 

It is the hope and prayer of many Ahobila Matam

SishyAs and abhimAnis that a Lotus pond be constructed

in Ahobila KshEthram to grow Lotus flowers for use in

the nithyArAdhanam for PrahlAdha Varadhan

at Lower Ahobilam .

 

It is also their hope that a Nanda Vanam be also

constructed there for growing TuLasi and Flowers for

NithyArAdhanam . Srimath Azhagiya Singar has blessed

this proposal and hopefully we all can start

the construction activities later this year

after the ChAthurmAsyam . This is just advanced

information for all who wish to participate .
