Guest guest
Swamin, Thalachangadu is one of very important Divyadesam for Srivaishnavites. It is here, Thirumangai Azvar scored over Thirugnana Sambandar in debate and he was aptly awarded the title "Nalu kavip perumal". Here Sriman Narayana adorns the name of NANMADIYAP PERUMAL", in standing posture facing east. This Divyadesam is in Myladuthurai - Akkur - Seerkazi Road. Thalachangadu is at a distance of 3 km from Akkur and the divyadesam is a few meters away abutting a kutcha Road. Near the Divyadesam, there are no residential hamlets. The Divyadesam it self is surrendered with fields. Hence no accommadation facility. Chandra Pushkarini is near by, presently used for washing purposes. This pushkarini it self has a parambariam. The Andal statue here is small but very beautiful. There is also Nrusimha statue installed in make shift arrangement. A sannadhi, is available unfinished. Its location is under dispute and hence unfinished. An alternate site just behind Thayar Sannadhi is being considered. The present Bhattar has to come from far away Mayiladuthurai. The shrine is opened around 9.30 Am and open till 5.30 Pm continuously. Besides the bhattar, son of the heridity Trustee is in attendence, soliciting funds. Two faithful dogs guard the shrine. There is unfinished accommadation just outside the shrine. It has no roof and doors. It is a twin accommadation. we are told that it is being taken up for repairs to facilitate the Bhattar to stay. It is doubtful even if the accommadation is made ready, any one will stay in it. It is situated far away from other habitations, amidst fields. The security of the inmates will be a question mark. At best those structures can facilitate Sevarthis as a stop over. The Bhattar has to be provided accommadation in the village Thalasangadu or near by Akkur Tri-junction. This will facilitate him to reach the temple in early hours and stay back till say 7.30 PM. Sevarthis, beware! we understand funds collected in the temple's premises are pocketted by local heridity and a very little fraction is spent. Guest guest
Hello Sirs,Recently I visited this particular temple on my yaathirai to the Tirunaangur Divya desams. The Temple as described by Mr. Rajagopalan is located in between sugar cane fields (at least it was the time I went there). The facts about the temple as stated by Mr. Rajagopalan are true. I must add some information provided by the bhattar. He said that once the TVS group approached the management about managing this temple for a year. However, their only condition that their (TVS's) person will manage the day to day activities of this temple was rejected by the hereditary trustees. The bhattar then told me that he was trying to reach the TVS people, however, was not successful. At the time I had darshan, the lord was unadorned. I pained me to see that. There was some work going on according to the bhattar on roofing with asbestos/plastic sheets. I wonder is there any way the temple can be taken off the hereditary trustees's hands?
