SHRIMAN NARAYANA - THIRUNANGUR DIVYADESANGAL Srirama with two thayars ... Yes it is so

SHRIMAN NARAYANAYA NAMAHA

Shri Rama with two thayars? Yes ! Confused?

It is so. Go to Parthanpalli of Thirunangur group of Divyadesams to have this rare sight.

King Dasaratha performed Puthrakameshti yaga to have a child. In the course of the yaga, he understood that Shriman Narayana will be his son as Rama. He wished to know how Rama will look like. He prayed Shriman Narayana to see how Shri Rama will look. Accordingly Shriman Narayana appeared in the Homa gunda along with two Thayars. Since in the Rama Avathara period, there can't be two Thayars, the two Thayars also gleefully worshiped ShriRAma then. This rare sight of Shri Rama coming out of the yaga gunda, lifting his foot, along with two Thayars, is available in the Parthan palli Divyadesam.

Parthanpalli Divyadesam is located at a distance of 11 kilometers from Seerkazi in Nagapattinam of Tamilnadu. It is about 3 Kms from Thiruvenkadu, which is in the Seerkazi - Poompuhar Road. From Myladuthurai also we can reach Thiruvenkadu.

After loosing thier country to Kouravas Pandavas were in vanavasam. At that time, once Arjuna felt

thirsty and he was in search of water. While searching for water, he found sage Agasthiya performing thapasya. He disturbed Agasthya and asked for water. His Kamandala did not contain water. Agsthya suggested to approach Sri Krishna for water. There upon, he called out " Krishna! Krishna!!". Krishna appeard before him and gave him a knife and told Arjuna that he can dig where ever he wanted with that knife to get water. Arjuna accordingly dug and could get Ganga water there. This episode is believed to have taken place in Parthanpalli. There is a sannadhi in Parthanpalli for Arjuna.

There is a three tier Gopuaram of 75 feet height. Ursavar Parthasarathi is with a sword and Kolavalli Sri Rama is with a bow. Both of them grant Sevas to worshippers.

Respected Swamin, The details about Divya Desams are very very interesting and useful for planning a pilgimage. It would be nice, if you can ask the people giving information to add telephone number and name of the contact person, so that we can contact the concerned person well in advance to have a nice darshan.
