(Periya Thirumozhi 1.3.5) Parakalan, the last of the azhwar goshti is known for his Divya Desa prAvanyam. He did not stop with just his anubhavams on archa moorthys in Divya Desams, but has also recommended when it is easy to visit such Divya Desams. In that respect, he recommends that one particular Divya Desam needs to be visited before one gets older (thandukaalaavoonRiyoonRith thaLLinNadavaamun). This is none other than Badari. Known as Badari Narayanan, Nara Narayanan, this perumal has a speciality. He wanted to show the Acharya sishya bhAvam by himself. He became the teacher and also transformed himself into a student. With this kind or rile plays, he started performing Thirumantra upadesam to the student, himself (Nara Narayanan). This happened in Badari, which is in the northern part of India. The same thing happened in the southern part of India. This time around, the roles played were the same, but the people were different. This happened in the beautiful Divya Desam that is the subject of our series. Swamy Ramanujar was the teacher and Thirukkurungudi Nambi was the student. One gets SriVaishanvatvam through the sambandham with Swamy Ramanujar. Nambi got this by getting upadesam from Swamy Ramanujar. Thus, Nambi became “SriVaishnava Nambi”. The Divya Desam is known as “Vaishnava Vamanam”. adiyen, ramanan Got a little couch potato? Check out fun summer activities for kids.
