So long, we have been enjoying Nambi along with other Perumal in this series. Rest of the series will focus on relation between Nambi and our Acharyas. Nambi and Parasara Bhattar If a person has been blessed by Thirukkurungudi Nambi, even if he is born in chandala kulam (so called lower

caste), he still will be leading a life of very high cadre, even higher than that of Maharishis. This has hapaned to a person called Nampaduvan. He was born in so called lower caste. He was a great bhakta of Nambi. He used to sing on Nambi everyday. The mahAtmiyam about him was completely narrated by Varaha Perumal to Bhoomidevi thayar in Varaha puranam. The particular episode describing the speciality of his kaimkaryam and other interleaving stories form what is called "Kaisika Puranam". The ekAdasi day in the tamil month of Karthigai in sukla paksham is called as Kaisika ekAdasi. This is very special for Thirukkurungudi Nambi. It was on this day, Nampaduvan sang in kaisika ragam on Nambi. The brahmarAkshas that was waiting to eat him got back the old form of a brhaman with

the grace of Nambi after meeting NampAduvAn. Swamy Parasar Bhattar has written vyAkyanam for Kaisika puranam. Kaisika puranam is recited in front of NamPerumal, Nambi and various other Divya Desams on the day of Kaisika ekAdasi. The utsavam during the kaisika ekAdasi is very grand in Thirukkurungudi. Araiyar Sevai happens. Thirukkurungudi Nambi likes to hear Araiyar ghAnams.
