Dear SrI Kumar :

 

In answer to Your question , Following Kalasa Thirumanjanams

are permitted in PaancharAthram :

 

1, 5 ,9 , 16 and 81 , 108 along with special 1,000 kalasams .

 

A. The Single kalasa Thirumanjanam contains as Dhravyam

Milk or Pure Water (SuddhOdhakam) . The Devathai invoked

here is VaasudEvan.

 

B. Pancha Kalasa Thirumanjanam:

 

Start at the center with one of the 5 Kumbhams

for VaasudEvan . Even ones (2) and 4 are for

VishNu and Thrivikraman for AavAhanam . 2 & 4 are

at the west and East of the Kumbam # 1 .The odd

numbered Kumbhams are 5 and 3 sitting to the right

and left of the Main kumbham and are for Madhusoodhanan and

Vaamanan .

 

In a pradakshiNam fashion , Thrivikraman , Vaamanan ,

VishNu and Madhusoodhanan are around the central

Kumbham for Vaasudevan . Four KInds of dhravyam are

used : (1) Water containing Diamonds, Pearls, red Coral and gems ;

(2) Panchakavyam ; (3) Water containig ghee , Curd , Milk ,

Honey , Jaggery and fruits (4) water in which Gold , Silver ,

Copper , Bronze , Iron were soaked .

 

C. Nine Kalasam : Most Popular .

 

D. Sixteen Kalsam : Achyuthan , Ananthan , Sathyan and VishNu

are invoked in 4 Kumbhams in addition to 12 UpavyUha Moorthys .

The unique dhravyams besides standard are: Sandal paste water,

akshthOdhakam , YavOdjakam , MaarjanOdhakam , the essence of

dharbham ( Dharbha Chaaru) and KaashAyam .

 

E. 81 Kalasam : Seventeen dhravyams are used here and therest have

Sandal paste water .The nine at the center and the 8 in surrounding

8 directions have kalasams with specified dhravyams . The center kalasams

are 1 to 9 and the surrounding Kalasams in 8 directions are the 10th ,

19th , 28th , 37th , 46, 55th , 64th and 73rd kalasams .

 

The unique dhravyams used here are :

 

PalOdhakam for Sathyan ( 3rd Kalasam) : pieces of fruits

 

MaarjanOdhakam: Turmeric , Soorya Vardhini , Ghee ,

SattippUNDu , Vaahai , SathApathram , fronts of dharbham

( Nuni) ; This is for Achyutan . Kalasam 4 .

 

AkshadhOtakam : Neevara grain ( grass) , Bamboo rice , paddy ,

Tinai, Yavam , 60 day old Kuruvai crop and wheat .This is for

Ananthan( Kalasam 5)

 

RathnOdhakam : different gems.

 

lOhOtakam : Different Metals

 

GandhOdhakam : Sandal paste, GhOshtam , safron , Fragrant

Material like Vetti vErr , ViLamucchi vErr etc. Devathai is Maadhavan

and Kalasam is #8 .

 

YavOdhakam ; Yavam , Paddy and Bamboo shoot Rice ( Moongil arisi).

This kalasam is for Govindhan (#9).

 

Paadhya Jalam (for VishNu) : TuLasi , Lotus flower , aRham pull ,

Akshathai , VishNu ParNee , Bilvam leaves , sandal paste ( 10th Kalasam) .

 

Argyam(For Madhusoodhanan in Kalasam 19) : White Mustard, Akshathai ,

dharbham fronts,dry fruits , Yavam , seasame seeds , Jaathi Mallikai

flowers ,

Sandal paste

 

AchAmanam ( For Thrivikraman in the 28th Kalasam): Pine apple flower,

SeNpaka flpwer, Pacchai KaRpooram , Jaathipathri , cardamom ,

Cinamon , Saffron and sandal Paste .

 

Panchakavyam Kalasam is for Vaamanan in the 37th Kalasam .

 

If it takes this much effort to assemble the 81 Kalasa Thirumanjanam ,

you can imagine the complexity for organizing the 108 and 1000 Kalasa

Thirumanjanams by the Aagamic experts.
