Renovation and consecration - appeal

Karapangadu, a minuscule village in Tanjore district is proud to have the famous temple of Sri Perundevi Thayar consorted Sri Abhishta Varadaraja Swami (Sri Deva Perumal), a perfect replica of Kancheepuram Sri Varadaraja Swami and his abode there.

This temple is 300 years old and daily poojas and festivals (Utsavams) take place in the lines of Kancheepuram adhering to " Pancharatra " norms and rules.Karapangadu is the birth place of great scholars and pundits like late Singaperumal Swami, Desika Varadachar Swami, Venakatachar Swami, popularly known as Karapangadu Swami and Dr.Rangaramanuja Swami, a devout exponent in Upanishads and Prabhandams.Renovating the Rajagopuram, vimanams, Sanctum Sanctorium, the halls of Ardh mandapam, Maha Mantap, strengthening the rampart walls on all four sides, pre- consecration yagas, yagnas and other rituals would cost around INR 43 lakhs.
