Dear All,

 

Here is the various Pasurams which has the many important names which are not common but played important roles in the Ramayana.

 

Mandothiri: Every one knows that she is the wife of Ravana and tried her best to ask her husband to send SITAPIRATTI back to RAMA,but he did not hear her words and ultimately killed by RAMA which is a history. There is a Pasuram which mentions her name and let us see:

 

vambAlam KoondAl mAndoDri kAdalan vanpugha

anbu thannAl munditha azaganidamenbarAl

umbArkonum ulegezum vantheendi vanangum nall

sembonarum mathil sooznthu azagar thennarangame Peria thiurmozhi 5.4.5

 

Kooni: She is the main cause for RAMA'S exile and there is a Pasuram which reads like this:

 

kongaivan Kooni sorkondu kuvalayath

thungakarium parium rachiaumam

engum Baratharkaruli van kanadai

angannan appoochikatugindran ammane appoochikatugindran.

Periazwar Thirumozhi 2.1.8

 

There is a mention by another Azwar which reads like this:

 

Thenegu mAmalar koondal Kosailaum Sumitirayum sindai nova

koonurivin kodunthozuthai sorketta kodiaval than sorkondu endru

kanagame miga virumbi pogindren manukulathar thangal kove. Perumal Thirumozhi 9.10

 

It is a very good Pasuram which mentions the mood of Kosalya Matha and Sumitra

Another Pasuram from Perumal Thirumozhi 8.6 which says the mood of Azwar over the words of Kaikeye.

 

Sutramellam pin thodara thol kanamadinthavane

atravargatku arumarunthe ayothinagarku athipathiye

katravargal tham vazum kanapurathu en karumaniye

sitravai than sorkonda srirama thaleloo.

 

Gugan:

 

Maranitha mulai madavai vaithevi vinnappam

therannintha ayothiarkon perunthevi ketarulai

kooranitha vel valavan Guganodu kangai thannil

seeranitha thozamai kondothum orr adaiyalam.

 

It is Pasuram wherein Anjaneya tells SITAPIRATTI about the meeting of Gugan and how he helped them cross the river.

 

Sumitran, Vasistar:

 

Sumitran was asked by Dasaratha to bring back RAMA from the exile and what was Dasarathas feeling and what he says to him and Vasistar:

Poomaru narumkunji pun sadayaipunainthu poonthugil seralgul

kamarizil vizaleduthu kalanaiathu angangal azagumari

emarutho en pudalvan yan endru selathagavanam than serthal

thoomariyee ethu thagavo Sumathirane Vasistare soller neere

 

 

Bharathan:

 

Emma veetu thiramum seppam nin

semmapadaparputh thalai serthu ollai

kaima thunbam kadintha pirane

amma adiyen venduvathu ethey Thiruvoimozhi 2.9.1

 

Thru this Pasuram the Azwar requests RAMA to give his Padugai as HE has given to Bharatha.
