Guest guest
SRI : || Life of Seniors. Pranaams to all Bhagavathas. Day to Day happenings around us , especially in many families are causing great concern. It is our wish to share our observations on the lives of senior citizens. The Love, care and respect they deserve to receive from their children, especially at the evening of their lives is surely diminishing. This is a dangerous sign of deteriorating human and moral values. Many Children , very well placed in their lives either fail to render the due support or they think it is enough if they give some financial assistance to their aged parents. It is common sense that the elders cant do much with money, as they are not physically fit to make use of the same. Love and physical support are the real need for the elders. Even parents with many children are either kept in isolation or tossed here & there, making them feel totally upset & miserale, both mentally and physically. Our great tradition is to follow the Vedic Dictum - " Maathru Devo Bhava, Pithru Devo Bhava ......." . It is a pity that we are running away from our traditional value. The children are denied the company of their Grandparens, which normally will result in making the children become Good Human Beings. It will not be long before these youngsters too become old and will need the help of their children. How can they either command or expect the help from their children then, when they have failed to do the same to their own parents ? Worse still, we find when we go around in the society, that there are many who even ill treat their parents. It is a great sin and one has to pay back for such wrong deeds. More harmful is, that a social degenration will be the result of these wrong doings to the elders. A movement for social awreness to kindle the youngsters to take care of their parents is a dire need of the day. Of course there very many children who take care of their parents with all the love and respects they can shower on them. We certainly appreciate & bless such children and wud pray all others to follow them. May The Lord Krishna, who is Ever Graceful , Bless the seniors who are suffering for want of care & love, with a better life which they richly deserve. Hare Krishna. Kombur Vankeepuram Madhavan. Guest guest
SRI : It is mostly in the Urban areas and from the children live in abroad in particular western countries such as US and UK. Still in villages, there is respect for the elders in the society. Again, if there is an educated son/daughter in the family, they move out of village and later get married and desert the parents. If the parents decide to go to US/UK to with their children, they need to dance to the tunes of not only their sons/daughters/in-laws, but also to their grand-children. In those days, grand-children had respect/fear for the Seniors as they are respected by their parents too. Everyone used to live upto the rules by the Seniors and family tradition. But, in urban life everyone needs to live by the rules laid by the lifestyle being adopted by the younger ones. In the process, the current generations are losing a lot of valuable lessions from the Elders.
