Guest guest
Dear Sir, I saw that question answer, it was clear. He told about the difference in agni but he does not suggested to leave the chradham. Lowkika agni means - agni withhout agnisandhanam & oupaasanam. Agni sandhanam - oupaasana agni is called vaideeka agni. Also he added that one can do the specified chardham in any of the agni nvs On 9/6/06, venkat chari <venkigopu wrote: Sri:Sri NVS swamin, dasoham. In June 2006 issue of Sri Ranganatha Paduka, a swaminhas requested a clarification on performing sraddham for his late brother, whose wife passed earlier, inquestion-answer section. He was performing masiyam every monthwith Hiranya sraddham. He indeed performed varshaptikam. He was seeking aboutpratyaptikam. The author explained that there were twobrathas (seemanda bratha, sannihita bratha). For seemanda bratha, sraddham should be performed like pitru, pitamaha, prapitamaha with pinda pradhanam andhomam. For sannihita bratha, laukikagni should beperformed. adiyen could not understand this. Canswamin explain this please? Does this mean thathiranya sraddham to be done for prathyaptikam? Guest guest
Swamin 1.Is there ban in the shastras for using 'uthrakinni' (spoon type) for taking water for achamanam from the kolapathram? Iyers do that but we (iyengars) do not use. It is more easy when uthrakinni is used to take right quantity of water without spilling all over. May I know why Iyengars are prohibited from using it? 2. Also I heard in Pothigai TV, Sriman Velukkudi swamy stating that Bhagawat Ramanjuar, after his 18th visit to Thirukkozhtiyoor Nambigal, gave the meaning of Charamas sloka to the interested persons in the temple. I had all along had read and heard that Udaiyavar gave the moola mantra from that temple to the interested ones and Nambigal got offended first. Which is true, whether Udaiyavar gave out the Moola mantra or Charamas sloka or both? Adiyen Kochappaa
Guest guest
Dear Sri Kocchappa : There is no Saasthram for UddhariNi usage or otherwise . It is kulAchAram . The right quaktity of water can be used for Aachamaneeyam by sipping only what is needed from the water held in the cupped palm from koLapAthram . For arghyam , you hold on to the KoLapAthram or Sombhu with both hands and direct the water stream . The nithya Karma and its effects will not be lessened by using UtthariNi or not . AchArya RaamAunuja was instructed into the meanings of AshtAkshari by ThirukkOshtiyUr Nambi and not Charama slOkam . There is a lot of controversy about AchArya RaamAnuja broadcasting it from the top of the Gopuram or not inspite of the Statue of RaamAnuja at the Gopuram . Our AchAryan did instruct those dear and near to him inspite of the promise made to keep these esoteric meanings just to himself . For this , he recieved the wrath of his AchAryan and soon after blessings for his magnanimity .
