Dear Srivaishnavas,

 

Can somebody let me know when is the uDaiyavar panchasamskara utsavam which is celebrated every year at Madurantakam abhimanastalam.Would be grateful if you can provide the detailed program of the utsavam along with the timings.dAsanRaja Gopalan

Swamin, The Udayavar Pancha Samskara Utsavam will be organised on Every Avani Sukla Panchami in Madhurantakam. Adiyen from Madhurantakam working in Muscat, Capital city of Oman and adiyen's both elders brothers Sri.Dr.Varadaraja

Bhattar and Sri. Rangaraja Bhattars are the Bhattar in the same temple. Normally in the morning both Acharya and Sishya (Sri Periya Nambigal and Sri Bhashyakarar) will go to spot in the lake where Pancha Samskaram was performed to the great Acharya (that place is called Bhashyakarar Padithurai). There Tirumanjanam will be organised and while returning to the temple, Sri Karunakara perumal, Bhashyakarar and Periya Nambigal along with Periya Nambigal's Aradhya Deivam Sri Kannan will reach the Mandapam (these photos can be seen in the following link :

http://www.pbase.com/svami/maduraantakam ) backside the temple where the Pancha Samskara Utsavam will be performed infront of Karunakara Perumal by our great Acharya Sri.Periya Nambigal. The history says that The residing Deity Rama was performed Mangala sasanam after the this great incident about 1000 years before, then our Acharya Sarvabhauma Periya nambigal praised Ramachandra of Madhurantakam as Thataakapaalan (saviour of the lake - Srivaishnavam) @ Eri Katha Ramar, which Guruparampara describes in 4 slokas. It is a wonderful festival and must to attend by all the Srivaishnavas. Panchasamaskara Uthsavam for Sri Ramanujar

Sannidhi (Erikatha Ramar), Madurantakam is being

celebrated on SUNDAY, 16th September, 2007, which is very unique and important for Vaishnava

Sampradayam., which will not be celebrated in any
