Dear Srimad Ramanuja dAsA's and bhAgavathAs: :

adiyEn namaskArams to all::

 

AdiyEn would like continue with the previous mail about the second

attempt made by Periya Nambigal to bring IlaiyAzhwAr to Sri Rangam.

 

After the ALavandhAr's ascend to Paramapadham, there was the vacancy

to be filled up in the " Srivaishnava Darshanam " as a " Pravarthakar " .

Hence all the mudhaligal (sishyA's) of ALavandhAr met and decided to

send Periya Nambigal again to Kanchipuram to bring back IlaiyAzhwar to

Sri Rangam and made him as " Darsana Pravarthakar " .

 

Hence Periya Nambigal with his wife, left Sri Rangam with the

permission from Periya PerumAL, and walked along the way to

Kanchipuram and reached Madurantakam.

 

While at the same time, IlaiyAzhwAr requested Thiruk Kachchi nambigal

to answer his questions and doubts from Kanchi Devap PerumAL. After

'thiruvAlavattam' kainkaryam was over, Deva perumAL inquired about the

reason for Thiruk kacchi nambi's thought.

 

We know that, three divyadesa emperumAn's lost their archAvathAra

samAthi and spoke to three persons respectively.

 

Upon hearing the word from Thiruk kachchi nambi, Sri PeraruLAlan,

VaradarAjan, Devadhi rAjan had released the great " SIX WORDS " which in

turn made IlaiyAzhwar to fell under the -thiruvadi-feet of Periya

Nambigal as AchAryar. The last sixth word " pUrNAchArya samAsrayE "

revealed IlaiyAzhwAr that, he has to surrender unto the lotus

thiruvadi of Periya nambigal as AchAryar. Hence he left to Sri Rangam

from Kanchipuram to meet Periya nambi, by informing Thiruk kachchi

nambi and darshan of Deva perumal.

 

While on the way to Sri Rangam, IlaiyAzhwar came to MadurAntakam to

worship yEri kAththa perumAL. But to the surprise, he met Periya

nambigal at the padiththuRai of the madurAntakam lake itself.(The

padiththuRai in album). Both were happy on seeing each other and

exchanged their vishayams.

 

Periya nambigal appealed IlaiyAzhwAr to get samAsrayaNam done at

Kachchi PEraruLAlan sannidhi. But IlaiAzhwAr rejected and said that he

was interested to get Pancha SamskAram at Madurantakam itself as

NammAzhwar said that:

the sareeram - dhEham - is " minnin nilaiyila...... " ThiruvAimozhi.

 

Periya Nambigal appraised IlaiyAzhwAr and performed Pancha SamskAram

under the 'magizha' tree inside yEri kaththa Ramar temple. (The

magizha tree, Pancha SamskAra mandapam can be seen in album). After

the " Pancha SamskAram " was over IlaiyAzhwAr questioned about " Which is

PramANam? Who is PramEyam? Who is pramAthA? "

 

To that Periya nambigal replied " Dwayam is PramANam, Kanchi

pEraruLAlan is PramEyam, You (Ramanujar) are PramAthA "

 

Then both went to Kanchipuram instead of Sri Rangam. AchAryar Periya

Nambigal lived at the portion in the house of IlaiyAzhwAr at

Kanchipuram. After there was a mis-understanding between Periya

nambigal's wife and IlaiyAzhwar's wife, Periya Nambigal left

Kanchipuram without informing to his sishyA - IlaiyAzhwAr and reached

Sri Rangam back.

 

Again this time, Periya Nambigal couldn't able to get IlaiyAzhwAr

along with him to Sri Rangam. Finally, after some incidences in family

IlaiyAzhwAr came to knew that, samsAric life was not suitable for his

Atma yAtrA. Hence he send his wife to her birthplace, and then reached

Sri Rangam to do nithya kainkaryam to Periya PerumAL and fulfilled the

thought of his paramAchAryar ALavandhAr - " Aam ivan mudhalvan " - became

the " Darshana Pravarthakar " of Sri VaishNavam.

 

Here adiyEn want to conclude the part by analysing the meet of Periya

Nambigal and IlaiyAzhwAr at MadurAntakam. The distance between the

MadurAntakam and Sri Rangam is more than the distance between

Kanchipuram and MadurAntakam. Here AchAryan - Periya nabigal- reached

& covered more distance when compared with Sishya - IlaiyAzhwAr-.

Hence always EmperumAn and AchArya's reach would be more than the

Prapannan or jeevAtmA's reach towards Him or AchAryan!!!

 

To conclude with, adiyEn want share the pictures that was taken during

" Pancha SamskAra Vaibhavam " at MadurAntakam on Sep 16. By thinking

When ManavALa mAmunigal reached MadurAntakam to perform

mangaLAsAsanam, after seeing the gOpuram and magizha maram, exclaimed

" ithuvO thiru gOpuram, thiru magizham. IthuvO yethirAsarkku dwayam

yeentha thUyap pathi..... "
