The Krishna Paksh (the dark fortnight) of Ashwin month is observed as Shraddh period in our Hindu religion. The Glory of Shraddh and method of its performances are described at appropriate places in Vishnu, Vayu, Varah, Matsya and other Puranas; and in Mahabharat, Manusmruti and other scriptures.The ceremonies,performances and canons for Shraddh have been compiled in a web site.This has been done so that lay people could familiarize themselves with ‘The Glory of Shraddh’ and fulfil their filial obligations towards their forefathers.
