Guest guest
Dear Sriman Krishna, This is how it goes. Lord Venkateswara's main brahmotsavams are celebrated in the Tamil month of "purattASi" known as kanyA mAsam in samskrtam since Sun stays in virgo in this month. The day of Sravanam is the concluding day for the utsavam. It sometimes so happens that the purattASi SravaNam and vijaya daSamI day coincide. In such years, there will be only one utsavam. When it does not coincide, as it is this year, there will be two brahmotsavams, one in the Thamizh month of "purattASi" and other in the lunar month of ASvIyujam concluding on vijaya daSamI, on which day also the star will be SravaNam. Since the main brahmOtsavam takes place in purattASi, the second one is called navarAtri brahmOtsavam as it happens in the days of Dasara. Ramanuja dasa Vishnu -------------------- Respected Bhagavatas,I have a small doubt, please do help me clear it. I regularly visit the official site of tirupati, tirumala.org and get in touch with all the news over there. Brahmotsavams have just finished a few weeks ago. Last week when i checked the news section, the authorities there were having a meeting on another upcoming brahmotsavam! How come brahmotsavam is being celebrated twice this year? Thanks in advance dasosmikrishna oneSearch: Finally, mobile search that gives answers, not web links.
