Guest guest
SrI: Dear KrishNa BhakthAs : The image of VeNugOpAlan generating delectable music at BrundhAvanam saluted in the previous slOkam persists in the mind's eye of LeelAsukhar . Propelled by this enchanting image , LeelAsukhar commands his tongue to engage in talking about the glories of Lord KrishNa .The key words of this slOkam are :"gOpakanyA- bhujangam Tamm kaTaya"( Oh My tongue ! Please speak about the Lord , who was the object of desire of the young girls of BrundhAvanam ) . Meaning and Commentary ********************************* Oh my tongue ! Please occupy Yourself speaking about the glories of KrishNa , who is the object of love of the gOpis ! This request/command to the tongue ( Rasanaa) is to speak and sing about the glories of the flute playing GopAla- KrishNan . This appeal to the tongue reminds me of SadAsiva BrahmEndrAL's krithi " Bruhi MukundhEthi rasanE " , where he requests his tongue to speak about Mukundhan . LeelAsukhar tries to persuade his tongue to undertake the requested task by explaining the auspicious attributes of the Lord engaged in generating the divine music while moving around the groves and fields of BrundhAvanam herding the assembly of cattle ( gavAm Brundham BrundhAvana-bhuvi chArayantham gOpa- KanyA bhujangam Tamm , RasanE , kaTaya ). Oh my tongue ! speak gloriously about the Lord filling His flute slowly slowly with delectable svarams to generate His enchanting VeNu ghAnam ( mandham mandham madhura ninadhai: vENum Aapoorayantham Tamm kaTaya ) . Oh my tongue ! Please dwell on the joyous aspects of this madhura ghAnam resulting from the emanation of the intricate assembly ( kOrvai) of svarams coaxed ever so gently from His flute by the Master Flute player . Oh my tongue ! Please speak about His glories as the destroyer of the foes of Indhran and the DevAs ( Sathamakha mukha dhvamsinAm Tamm KaTaya ) . Oh my tongue ! Our Lord is not only a traveller in the land of BrundhAvanam ( BrundhAvana bhuvi chArantham ) but He is also the One travelling in the land of Upanishads , the crown of the VedAs( ChAndhObhAgE charantham). Please speak about that aspect of His frequent travels too ( ChAndhObhAge charantham Tamm KaTaya) in your adoration !
