Sri Ranganatha Temple's Invitation to participate in a Major Fund Raising Drive starting on this Kaarthikai dheepa Dinam

Dear Friends and Well wishers of

SrI RanganathA Temple, Pomona, NY :

 

This is a very special day .

 

(1) Today is Kaarthikai Dheepam day at

all Temples .The Param JyOthi of

the Lord is shining splendidly

and lighting our way for the rest

of the Year .

 

(2) Today is also the day when the annual

PavithrOthsavam at SrI Ranganatha

Temple (SRT) was completed .The Agni

JwAlais from the PoorNAhUthi are

consecrating us all around and preparing

us to be engaged in services to

the Divine Couple for the coming

year .

 

(3) Today is the day when the SRT

Capital Improvement and Expansion

project is being presented to You all

to participate as Proud Sponsors at

a number of levels .

 

Our Target is to raise Two Million

Dollars to address the many pressing

needs of the Temple to serve its increasing

number of devotees in the most traditional

manner .

 

The Board of Trustees of the SRT seeks Your

generous support to raise these target figures

to accomplish the following goals:

 

1) Weather proof the Roof and the VimAnams

to protect against the severe weather conditions

of the North Eastern region of USA .

 

2) Create living quarters for the ArchakAs

and other Temple staff close to the Temple

site and unite them with their Families here .

 

3) Modernize public areas of the temple

for the comfort and enjoyment of

the increasing number of Visitors to

the Temple since the formal opening of

the Temple doors on May 21, 2001 .

 

4) The current kitchen for preparing

the PrasAdhams for the Lord and

distribute those sacred offerings

to the devotees as Anna DhAnam

is bursting at seams and it needs

urgent upgrading (Stoves , Ventilation,

storage and serving areas) .

 

4) Construct additional Vaahanams for

the BrahmOthsavams and PakshOthsavams

( annual and seasonal celebrations) .

 

5) Second PrAkAram is needed for

the devotees to perform their PradakshiNams

( circumambulations) and for PuRappAdu

(procession of the deities) during the Uthsavams .

 

6) Additional sannidhis ( shrines) for Lord

Hayagreevan and Sudarsanar have to be

constructed and consecrated .

 

7) A Library stocked with sacred books and

CD ROMs to serve as the reference library

for instructional purposes for the devotees

and their families needs to be realized .

 

8) Now that the Bali Peetam and Dhwaja

Sthambham ( Flag Staff) have been created ,

the construction of the Raaja Gopuram

becomes important .This will be a major effort.

 

The central thrust of the Board of Trustees

and Its Fund Raising Committee is to maintain

Sri Ranganatha Temple in the forefront of all

places of worship for all of You , Your Families

and friends .Let us work together to realize

this central goal .
