Guest guest
SrI: Dear All : I wanted to share with you a note I recieved from a Historian/ Author from India , who hails from Kaliyan's avathAra Sthalam . It is always not easy to date AzhwAr's times ( 5th to 9th Century). In this context , I welcome his input and am sharing with you . Guru Parampara descriptions put the AzhwArs at different yugams , which is a little far fetched . NamO NarayanAya , V.Sadagopan Respected Sir, Thirumangai might have won over some sivanadiyar in his time but not Sambanthar. It was very clear from the paasurams of Tevaram that Sampanthar has won over Samanar during Kuun Paandiyan and Kulachirayar, the Minister's time. Mangayarkarasi was queen who brought Sampanthar to Madurai - all these are historical records as well mentioned in classical work. Thirumangai (Adiyen belong to his place) mentioned very clearly about Thanthivarman who built temple of Adhi Kesava as per the advise of Azhwar. Again this has also hidden inscription record. Surely there was a gap of more than 100 years. I am not mentioning this note for the sake of arguement with a great scholar like your goodself. Since I did some research on this, and I share the same with your good self. Namaskarams, D
