Dear Bhagavata uttamas,

Adiyen's aneka dhedam samarpiththa vigyapanam.

 

Thiruvelliankudi - Adiyen need not describe to bhagavatha shreeshtas that its one of the 108 divya desam and sung by the great Alwar - Thriumangai Alwar in 10 paasurams. Its one of the pancha rama kshetrams, ( the others being ThriuvA yoddhi, Thiruvellore, ThiruppuLapoothangudi and Thirupputkuzhi). Emperuman had given dharshan here to Ashura guru sukacharya and his desciple Mayan, who has built the temple. Sukracharya has got his eyes restored here after the thiruvikrama avataram and here is where perumal gave the first of the Rama dharshanam ( after this only he took birth as parasu rama, sri rama, bala rama ).so much can be attributed to this temple of Sheerabdhi naathan that its comparison can only be made to Sri Rangam and nothing less than that.

 

Adiyen's thiru patanar Sri U.Ve. Thiruvelliankudi Kudik Kandhadai Sadagopachariar swamigal of Kumbakonam is taking care of the yearly Thiru adhyayana utsavams in Thiruvelliankudi Kolavilli Ramar kovil. The adhyayana utsavams where started here by Sri Parakalan ( Thirumangai Alwar) himself, propounded by natha munigal, then by Sri Alawandar and then by Srimadh Bhagavath Ramanujar and then by Sri Swamy Desikan. (all have done mangalasasanams to Kolavilli ramar).

 

This wonderful tradition got stopped years ago and initiated from last year by Kolavilli raman's thiruvullam, by the blessings of all Acharya Swamigal and by Adiyen's thiruppatanar's devoted and selfless work.
