Guest guest
Dear sri vaishNava perunthagaiyeer, All will very well answer in a shrewd fashion that exhibits their smartness in a quiz programme easily, if the question runs like this – "In the present day world what are all the places wherein gold and silver and such precious metals are available?" The present day youngsters will be more comfortable with such types of questions. And they would immediately roll out the answers in fraction of seconds since such questions form part of the 'general knowledge question banks' and part of sub topic geography. May be the feminine gender will outsmart in large numbers the other gender in answering quickly and correctly. But if you ask 'how it came to those places' 'is there any reference or evidence in our ancient literature like puraaNams and ithihaasams that how these places became those precious storage houses' then perhaps they may NOT answer that. For that these youngsters have to seek the help of oldies. Here is one such oldie strolling that out for the benefit of all – oldies and young as well on how these storage houses received their supply of gold silver and such precious stuff and from whom. The story goes like this -- A very attractive young lady took a pot in her hand and danced her way into the hearts of all onlookers – these onlookers were two warring groups pitted in a war against each other for some reason. One among the onlookers was also simply carried away by her beauty but this person had a specialty tag attached to him. This 'onlooker' of specialty tag, was supposed to be a man of high renunciation – recognized as such by all - a person who was doing the 'dhyaanam' on his 'lord supreme' always – all the time in yOga nishtai. At that time, when that lady danced, leaving away his usual 'yOga' and nishtai, he became fascinated on her and her dance and was simply lured by her. and as such he was going behind her as though he is the iron attracted by that magnet - lady. This 'attraction' by the other 'gender' – and physical features of that lady forced him to stray away from his 'routine yoga nishtai'. Hey folks, do not suddenly conclude 'he may be a brahmachari and doing yOga all the time'. And, that is why, when he suddenly saw a 'person of opposite gender, that too, of great attraction', he became wavery. That too, that lady, can simply be called 'beauty personification' in front of all. So this 'brahmachari' became impassioned. So that very 'brahmacharya nishtai' has taken toll in that person. No sirs and madams. In fact, he also has a beautiful wife, and she was always living together. That too she desired to have him, him ONLY, as her husband. And since he also liked that lady and so they both became a well-knit couple. Hey folks, sorry, if I say 'living together' it may not sound proper for she is half of him physically also. So it is NOT that because he was observing brahmacharya and yOga nishtai always, he suddenly became kaama rahitha by the attraction of that lady stated in the earlier paragraph. Another point is also to be highlighted here. In those days whenever some great 'maharshi' or 'thapasvi' or some 'dhEvaa' felt in his 'gnaana dhrishTi' – that farsighted vision - that at this appointed time or by such and such time, if a 'son' or 'girl' is born, the whole world will be benefited out of that child. Then even though it calls for a break in his own 'yOga' or 'thapas' or calls for spending of part of his thapas, he resort to shedding of his bindhu – semen – for the benefit of whole world. This again is irrespective of whether he has the proper receptacle - in the form of a good lady to receive that bindhu. There are many instances in our puraaNams and ithihaasams – one grand example is vyaasa - shedding his semen in a parrot - to have the great 'sukha brahmam' - the great gnaani who gave us sreemadh bhaagavatham. Actually no such 'gnaana dhrihti' was there to our personwho had a nice wife and passioned at that dancing lady about whom we saw in previous paragraph. In fact he resorted himself to simply the urge of kaamam at that instance. By now the suspense is 'very heavy' in all of you, to know really what is that? about whom is that and why all these etc. Perhaps for that you have to wait till next post.
