Dearest all,

 

Last verse AzhwAr considered himself as the servant to

Bhagawathas; here, in this verse, those who are NOT

His devotes are useless, though blessed with human

births- AzhwAr says.

 

vAnitaip puyalai mAlai

varaiyitaip pirasam eenRa,

thEnitaik karumpin sARRaith

thiruvinai maruvi vAzhAr,

mAnitap piRavi yan^thO!

mathikkilar koLka, than^tham

Unitaik kurampai vAzhkkaik

kuRuthiyE vENti NnArE. 8

 

vaanidai puyalai- Like the cloud in the skies

vaanidai maalai- VishNu in Paramapadham

varai idai- in the midst of the mountain

pirsam eenRa thaen idai karumbin saaRRai- (Like the)

sugarcane juice that grows inside the honey made by

honeybees;

thiruvinai- Who is with PiraaTTi;

maruvivaazhaar- those (who should have taken refuge at

the lotus Feet of such greatest Lord) who are not

devoted to Him

maanidam piRavi mathikkilar- are not realizing the

greatness of the blessed human births;

koLga- this is (bitter) truth

thamtham oonidai kurambai- they wish to reside in and

enjoy their filthy fleshy dirty bodies

vaazhkkaikku uRudhiyE vENdinaar – desiring and asking

for only such lives forever. (alas)

 

He is like the rainy clouds that shower on everyone;

He is impartial to all; He is caring and affectionate

towards all; Those who relish seeing Him, enjoy Him-

no simili for such an enjoyment or taste. There is

nothing that can be compared to with the tools and

instrument available in this world. One needs to

imagine and assume a combination of enjoyment to

understand this. If there is a sugarcane juice that

can be grown in the midst of freshly made of honey, it

would be equal to this somewhat. In order to enjoy

such a taste, He has blessed us with human births with

sense organs. Instead, these human brings are wasting

those tools and behave like the beasts, eating,

sleeping and mating. In fact those animals are better

as they are not blessed with such bodies and hence

they are doing what they are supposed to.
