Dearest all,

 

AzhwAr pleads for body, mind and speech to perform

their respective functions only on Bhagawaan and

Bhagavad vishayam.

 

thoNtellAm paravi ninnaith

thozhuthati paNiyu mARu

kaNtu, thAn kavalai theerppAn

AvathE paNiyA yen^thAy,

aNtamA yeNti saikkum

AthiyAy neethi yAna,

paNtamAm parama sOthi!

enthaay – My father!

aNdam aay – Paramapadham, the Universe – everywhere

(You have manifested and dwelled in)

eNthisaikkum – You have become all directions as well;

 

aadhi aay needhi aana- Jagath kaaraNan; Sarva

rakshakan that You are;

paNdam aam – immeasurable wealth to me

paramam jyothI- shining lustrous One!

thoNdu elaam – all kinds of service

paravi- need them – pleading with my mouth

ninnai thozhudhu – prostrating You performing

daNdavath praNamams

adipaNiyum aaRu- the ways in which kainkaryams need to

be performed

kaNdu- enjoy seeing such kankaryams being performed;

thaan – on your own

kavalai theerpaan aavathE – make me rid of all worries

(if I would be blessed with eternal kainkaryam)

paNiyaay- Please instruct me to serve you

ninnaiyE paravuvEn- for that I would praise You and

You alone

 

Please bless me with the ways to perform eternal

kainkaryam at Your lotus feet in all ways under all

circumstances and at all times, with body, mind and

speech. Please rid of all my worries if I would ever

get or which way I should serve etc, and You on Your

own bless me with that. Whatever that befits me to

serve You, You bless me with that. You are Sarva lOka

Rakshakan, Sarva saraNyan, SarvEshwaran. You are the

Supreme Lord; If You have decided and blessed what

service can I not perform at Your Feet? Please bless

me so; Here, the Azhwaar begs the Lord to bless him so

that his mind, Speech and the limbs (body) will be

engaged in HIS service forever.
