THE AUSPICIOUS QUALITIES OF THE LORD (16)

76. Only for them, He conquered this world by

pervading Himself everywhere without leaving even a

bit.

 

“idam pOi virindu ivvulakaLanthAn.”

 

(By pervading everywhere He measured this world.)

 

77. Only for their sake, He made Lanka a battlefield.

 

“tenpAl

ilankai

vengkaLam ceytha nam viNNOr pirAnAr.”

 

(He is our compassionate Lord, Who is the Lord of the

nitya sooris made Lanka a worst battle-field.)

 

78. For the same purpose, He killed narakAsura; and

cut off the shoulders of BhANAsura.

 

“naliyum narakanai veettiRRum, vANan thiN thOL

thuNittha

valiyum perumaiyum yAm chollum neertthalla.”

 

(We, being the lowest, are not capable of describing

fully the valour and greatness of our Lord, Who killed

narakAsura who was harming the world; and cut off the

shoulders of BhANAsura.)

 

79. He lifts up the devotees constantly worshipping

Him with all humility without even an iota of a gap --

over and above even the nitya sooris.

 

“seethanaiyE thozhuvAr viNNuLArilum seeriyarE.”

 

(Those who are always worshipping Him are greater than

even those who are in SrIvaikuNtam.)

 

80. He is capable of providing such Bliss, even if one

seeks it just by praying Him.

 

“pAraLantha

pErarasE! Em visumbarasE! Emmai neetthu vanchittha

OrarasE! aruLai”

 

(Oh the Emperor Who measured the world! Our Lord in

SrIvaikunta! Oh Lord Who cheated us by detaching us

from You! Grant us Your grace!)
