The totality begins at 22:01 EST, ends at 22:51 Hours EST. The partiality ends at 12:09 EST on 21-Feb-2008. The punya kalam exists during the entire duration of the eclipse. Everyone can do snanam during the eclipse. After snanam at the beginning of eclipse, one can perform archanai mantra japam, homam etc during the eclipse.The pitru tarpanam is to be performed by the one who performs tarpanam after the moon starts to recover. In terms of time, one can perform pitru tarpanam after 10.30 PM EST. After the ending of the eclipse one can do the
