Guest guest
Supremacy EmperumAn's Supremacy is highlighted in several ways. We observe it from His valor, His greatness. Sometimes it is established through vedic verses. It is from idhihAsam-s otherwise. It is from the manner of creation, sometimes. Sri PeriyAzvAr summed up this by going in ascending order of greatness from the tortoise to the Greatest EmpeurmAn. The Ganges, which flows from the himalayas through the northern and eastern part of india under various names, was brought down by bhagErathan from Shivaperuman's head. When EmperumAn measured the worlds one Divine feet reached the upper worlds -(en mathiyum kadanthu.. appAl mikku) immediately BrahmA worshipped him by pouring water on the feet and the Sri PAdha thErtrham was taken by SivaperumAn in his head and then the this was brought down to earth.( in fact that is why AzvAr mentions that SivaperumAn's hairlock as nalan thigazh sadai-nalan thigazh sadiayAn mudik konRai malarum nAraNan pAdath thuzhAzh4-7-2 of PeriyAzvAr Thirumozhi) Sri Velukkudi Varadachari svAmi used to often say Quote: 'Decide yourself. who is supreme? The one doing the worhsip. The one taking the SrI pAdha Therhtam on his head or the one who is the recipient of all the obeisance? While describing the antecedent of Ganges, PeriyAzAr succinctly underlines the greatness of EmperumAn - a unique way of expressing Supremacy chadumugan kayil-Chaduppuyan thALil -- sankaran sadaiynil thangi 4-7-3; dasan vanamamalai padmanabhan
