Bi Centenary Celebration of HH Shri Kethandapatti Swamy

Dear Bhaktas of EmperumAn:

Opportunities come rarely knocking at our doors and here is a great opportunity that Emperuman considers dear to Him. Nothing pleases Emperuman more than to see the great Acharyas, who have time and again appeared in our midst and helped us to lead a noble way of life, are reverred and remembered.

One such great acharya is Shri Kedhantapatti Swamigal. Those of you who are familiar with our acharya parampara will know that through Kethandapatti Swamigal an illustrious acharya parampara has come into existence - Shri Kozhiyalam Swamigal-Shri Uttamur Veeraraghavacharya Swamigal, Garudapauram Swamigal, Denkini Kottai Swamigal. These mahatmas have influenced generations of Asthikas all over the world.

Bicentennial celebration of this great acharya is being planned during October/November 2008. A committee headed by Anantha Narasimhachar Swamigal of Srirangam is spearheading the efforts to celebrate this bicentennial in the most befitting manner.

The celebrations include:

(1) Refurbishing Kethandapatti Swamigal's ashramam in Tiruvaheendrapuram which is presently in dilapidated condition. The ashramam is presently under the control of Lord Devanatha Temple and it will continue with the same arrangement after the refurbishment.

(2) Inviting Vedic scholars and Divya prabandha scholars to recite. Such occasions are great opportunities for these scholars and the community at large.

(3) Many other activities of lasting importance to the future generations.
