neeragatthaay! neduvaraiyi Nnucchi mElaay!

nilaatthingaL thuNdagatthaay! niRaindha kacchi

ooragatthaay, oNthurain^eer veqhaa vuLLaay!

uLLuvaa ruLLatthaay, ulaga mEtthum

kaaragatthaay! kaarvaanath thuLLaay! kaLvaa!

kaamarupooNG kaaviriyin thenpaal mannu

pEragatthaay, pEraathen nenci NnuLLaay!

neeragatthAy- the One who is Neeragam Divya Desam

(Thiruneeragam)

neduvaraiyil ucchi mElAy – One who resides on top of

the large mountain!

nilAtthingaL – the one who is in the crescent moon

niRaindha – The One who is the greatest kacchi Divya

Desam!

oN thuRai ve:kaa uLLAy – The One who is Thiruve:kaa,

the most beautiful place with the (river) bank!

uLLuvaar uLLatthAy – The One who resides in those who

contemplate on Him always!

kAragatthAy- The Lord of ThirukkAragam divya desam!

kAr vAnantthAy – One who is the resident of

kaarvaanam!

kaLvA! – One who is there in ThirukkaLvam Divya Desam

!

kaamarupoo kaaviriyin – in the most beautiful and

lovely cauvery river bank

thenpaal mannu bhogatthAy – ThiruppEr Divya Desam

perumAnE

pErAdhu uLLAy – One who is in my heart always without

any interruption!

perumAn- Oh Lord! Sarva Swami! Your Lotus Feet alone

pENinEn- are sought and desired by me.

 

Here mostly divya desams around Kanchipuram are

mentioned. Neduvaraiyin ucchi maelaay- refers to

Atthigiri mountain and the Lord of Atthigiri –

Varadarajan.- Devaadhirajan- Devarajan. Below Azhagiya

Singar. Upper- PeraruLALan. But like ThiruPPEr,

Thirumalai is referred to here- say commentators.

There are very many Thiruppathis (divya desams) around

Kacchi (Kanchipuram). Hence, Kacchi is referred to al

ellAm niRaindha kacchi.

 

That is why is referred to as the one that grants

moksham. Mutthi tharum nagar yEzhil mukkiyamaam

kacchi.

 

Ooragam – the UlagaLandha perumAL sannidhi. Within

that, neerarkam, kaarvaanam, kaaragam- three divya

desams. nilAtthingaL thuNdam – crescent moon – Sivan’s

temple within which Vishnu divya desam is there. It is

better and more importanat to indicate the diyya desam

that are not popular and are not known. The popular

ones would anyway be known to all. Hence these temples

are referred to.

 

Ve:kaa divya desam is the place where sonna vaNNam

seydha perumAL shows Himself so gracefully. The

obedient perumAL to Thirumazhisai AzhwAr. YathOthkAri

perumAL.

 

uLLuvAr uLLatthil- The One who resides in the heart of

AzhwAr.
