Guest guest
Sri M V Anantha Padmanabhacharya Swamin, during the couse of his Dinam oru Divya Namam discouses, over Jaya TV had given information about the Sthambampatti Kadali Ugra Lakshmi Nrusimha Swamy Temple. A week long discourses were videographed in the back-drop of the above shrine. Adiyen had the prapthi of worshipping in this temple on 27th April 2008. For the benefit of Sevarthi who desire to visit this temple, an attempt is made here to give as much information as possible. Sthala puranam: The village Sthmbampatti (presently called as Thammampatti) , once served as a village market for the tribals who lived in the nearby mountain ranges. The tribals used to sell vegetables, fruits, honey and other items and products of hills. One such tribal woman, Lakshmi used to bring plantain fruits (Kadali pazam) and sell them. As per her practice, she brought kadali pazam and kept them at a familiar place and fell asleep. When she woke up she could not see the fruits. This continued for three or four days. Unable to bear the losses, she appealed to the village chief for redressal of her problem. The village chief could not solve the mystery and he was clue less as who could have stolen the fruits. One day, he had a dream, in which Nrusimha Swamy appeared before the village chief and said that He was enjoying those fruits kept by Lakshmi and asked him to build a Shrine for Him. Thus a Temple was constructed and the Swayambu Vigraham was erected. This temple dates back to 1500 years and a buitiful temple as seen to day was built by benevolent donors. Availbale Sannadhis: Besides Kadali Ugra Nrusimha Swamy and Urchavar Varadha Raja Swamy, there are shrines for Chakrathalvar, Sengamala Thayar, Ramar, Krishnar, Dhanvanthri, Andal, Viswak Senar, Ashta Lakshmis and Hayagrevar. A Huge Hanuman statue greets just out side the temple. This temple is well maintained and Two kala Pujas conducted. Last year exactly on this day (28-04-2007) Samprokhanam took place. Bhattar: Shri Ramanujam, who stays very close to the temple is the Bhattar and is very kind, noble and willing to do service.
