Sri Ranjan is very much interested in Veada PaarAyaNam and Aaasthika Matters . Thank you , V. Sadagopan Dear members,As some of you may know, I am an astronomy PhD student in the UK.I will be visiting the NASA/Goddard Space Flight Research Centre nearWashington DC, USA on work-related business this June. I understandthis is very close to the Shiva-Vishnu temple at Lanham, MD. It wouldbe my pleasure to meet with any members of the list who may live inthe nearby area and are free around that time. My period of stay willprobably be June 1st - June 13th 2008. I would be very happy to findout about any activities which may be going on at the temple in theevenings/weekends during this period. Also, I would be very interested to hear if any of those stayinglocally know of any cheap accommodation near the NASA/GSFC inGreenbelt (I am on a student's budget unfortunately!). Additionally,I have heard that the GSFC canteen is known for not being veryvegetarian-friendly and any suggestions of places which might bebetter equipped to cater for me would be welcome (I am guessing thetemple does not do lunch-time "tadiyaaraadhanam", otherwise I wouldgladly go there every day!)with regards and praNaamams, daasanRanjan VasudevanCambridge, UK
Guest guest
Dear SrI Ranjan: I have travelled extensively during my business career years, and so am venturing to give you my way of handling the vegetarian food issue. I carry a small electric rice cooker (this will have to be a 120V rice cooker for the U.S.) with me when I travel. My wife prepares some curry power, 'kuzhambu' powder, etc., for me. I just buy some rice, frozen vegetables, and yogurt from the local stores, and cook my own food (rice, some curry power, some vegetables all put together in the same lot in the rice cooker and cooked together). I eat this mixture with the yogurt. For me, it is delicious. I buy some milk, juice and bananas for the added need in case I feel hungry at odd times. This is the my great secret, but I am sharing it in the public net because I sense that you are trying to figure out how to be a vegetarian while you are business trip. The above has worked for me for over 40 years. Best of luck. -Krishnamachari --- " Dr. Sadagopan " <yennappan wrote: > > - > rvv21 > Tiruvenkatam > Friday, May 02, 2008 1:57 PM > [t'venkatam] Visiting Washington DC, Greenbelt: keen to > meet list members staying nearby > > > SrI: > > Dear Members : > > Any help to SrI Ranjan from Members residing in the Maryland Cities > close to Goddard > Flight center would be much appreciated . > > > Sri Ranjan is very much interested > in Veada PaarAyaNam and Aaasthika > Matters . > Thank you , > V.
