Dear ThiruppullANi abhimAnis,

Today (20/5/2008) is the final day of Chiththirai Uthsavam here at ThiruppullANi. Today is the vidaiyARRi uthsavam . Ever since 2002 the year in which SamprOkshaNam of ThiruppullAni temple was celeberated we, ThiruppullAni people will be eagerly awaiting for this VidaiyARRi uthsavam. Sri VanamAmalai Mutt was built only in 2002 by ThirukkOshtiyUr MAdhavan SwAmi who was also the sponsor for a majority of kainkaryams in connection with that samprokshanam. So, on his request on behalf of VanamAmalai Mutt, Ramanathapuram Samasthanam permitted to celeberate vidaiyARRi uthsavam, which was till then held at Temple itself, at Sri VanamAmalai Mutt. And the expenses in connection with that are being sponsored by Sri PadmAsani ThAyAr kainkarya sabha. Sri Jayarama bhattar and sri Krishnamoorthi ,secretary and treasurer of the sabha take great interest in vidaiyARRi uthsavam. And on this day only we will have the bhagyam of enjoying PerumAl in Panguni and Raman in Chiththirai as SarvAlankArabhUshithar adorned with all the jewels that Sethupathis and other devotees donated over the years. On all other days sAththupadi will be done with only selected jewels . And hence our awaiting for the day. Photos taken today are available here.
