SrimathE Gopaladesika mahadesikaya nama:

Dearest all,

Nayaki’s mother now explains the mind of her daughter-

her madness in love with the Lord and His kalyANa

guNAs; her suffering in not being able to see Him.

nencurugik kaNpanippa niRkum sOrum

nedithuyirkkum uNdaRiyaaL uRakkam pENaaL,

'nancaravil thuyilamarntha nambee!' ennum

'vambaar_poom vayalaali maindhaa' ennum,

anciRaiya putkodiyE yaadum paadum

'aNiyaranga maaduthumO thOzhee' ennum,

ensiRakin keezhadangaap peNNaip peRREn

irun^ilatthuOr pazhipadaitthEn Epaa vammE! 12

nenju urugi – heart melts and flows like water (with

bhagavad anubhavam and chinthanai)

kaNN panippa – that anubhavam wells tears in her eyes;

niRkkum – stands with awe (at His glories)

sOrum – falls down with exertion and tiredness

nedidhu uyirkkum – heaves a long sigh (as to when she

will see Him)

uNdu aRiyAL – however much she is hungry, she never

eats or remembers to eat;

uRakkam pENAAL – though very tired, she never has the

mind to take rest and sleep; (with all this- she

contemplates on Him and addresses Him)

nanju aravil – on top of the poisonous snake

amarndha nambhee ennum – the Most auspicious One, who

sits (on such a snake happily and comfortably)

vambu aar poo vayal aali maindhaa – The Lord of

Thiruvaali Divya Desam, which is full of most fragrant

flowered fields!

ennum – thus she calls her Lord of Thiru Ali Divya

Desam

amsiRai a pull kodi yE aadum paadum – the lovely

beautiful feathered Garuda bird is His flag and like

that bird, she also sings and dances;

(Or she dances singing the name of the Lord as

“Garudak kodiyaanE”)

thozhee- on friend! (she calls her friend)

aNi arangam aaduthumO ennum – shall we go to the most

beautiful Srirangam and dance there? – she asks her.

en siRagin adangaa peNNaip petrEn – I have such a

daughter who is not in my hands (out of my control) –

Hence

iru nilatthOr pazhi – I am being talked about by the

whole vast world (OR)

iru nailatthu Or- unparalleled event that is – being

extremely rate in this vast world – I am blessed to

have such a daughter

yE paavamE- it is a pity that she is suffering; it is

my paapam that I am seeing her suffer.

Generally the mother of Parakala nayaki says that the

mind, jnAnEndriyas, prANan, jAtarAgni, AthMa – ate all

not in her control. She dances singing the Garuda

kodiyaan. Because she wants Garuda to bring Him on his

back. She addresses the Thiruvaali maNavaaLan, the

Lord of Milky ocean and asks, “why can’t You come?”.

Of Garuda, if You bring Him, it would console me as

well as my mother. Whatever she addresses and tells,

they all appear as songs. The friend approaches her

and asks what are you upto?. She asks the friend as

well to come along with her too to Srirangam.

Paapam! for whom? For my daughter? For me as the

mother or for those people in this world who talk

about her (wrongly).

AzhwAr ThiruvaDigaLE SaraNam

Regards

Namo Narayana
