(Srimushnm Andavan) will perform his 20th

Chathurmasya Sankalpam at Thiruppullani . The Sankalpam starts on

18th

July 2008.

 

 

This

is a very rare and great opportunity for all of us. Everybody knows

the holiness of Sri Adhi Sethu. Thiruppullani Sri Adhi Jagannatha

Perumal Blessed King Dasaratha only after which he per formed

Aswametha yAkam that resulted in the avatharam of Sri Raman. This

Thiruppullani and Sethu karai is the place from which Sri Rama built

the Adhi Sethu to cross the ocean. This is the place Rama chose to

make the world realise the Saranagathi philosophy. Only on this sea

shore of Sethukkarai , Samuththira Raja, Vibhishana and Suka

charana(the spies of Ravana) surrendered to Rama. This is the place

where the Aswatha tree acted as a judge to decide the correct text of

Vedas when a dispute arose between South India Brahmins and

Saraswatha, son of Saraswathi .

slokam says :

 

Ganyanthe

thvithaarakaa

Ganyanthe

bhumsau pamau

Sethu

darsanam itham punyam

Adhi

Sesha na ganyathe.

 

 

When

even a mere sight of Sri Adhi Sethu will bring you so much punyams

that even that thousand tongued Adhi Sesha will fail to count, who

can tell the effects when you have a holy dip there? And added to

this, when you will have the bhagyam of prostrating before the

Acharyan, our prathyaksha deyvam, immediately after Sethu snanam,

will not our sins “theeyinil patta thusame� Please plan ahead.

To be here on the day of sankalpam or any other date when Acharyan is

here for two months. Have a Holy dip at Sethu, have Acharya

darshanam, pray to Sri Adhi Jagannatha Perumal and Chakkaravarthi

Thirumakan in Dharba Sayana kolam . And you also have a another great

bhagyam here. The Uthsava moorthy of Swami Desika here is the

vigraham that Swami's Kumarar Nayinar acharyar did prathishtai at

Srivilliputhur but subsequently brought over here some 250 years ago

here and installed at Desikan Sannathi here. So, visiting here and

worshipping Desika here is more or less visiting Srivilliputhur also.

So please make all efforts to visit here.

 

 

Another

slokam goes to say that feeding with a handful of annam here is equal

to feeding one lakh at varanasi, two lakhs at gaya and seven lakhs at

Prayagai. Keeping this in his mind our most compassionate acharyan

has decided that all the sishyas must participate in thatheeyaradhana

kainkaryam during sankalpam here. Hence it has been decided to

collect Rupees Four Thousand from sishyas for a day's

thatheeyaaradhanam .
