Guest guest
SrI: Dear Devotee : Kurugai Kavalappan is the name of a dear Sishya of Swamy Nathamuni . It is therefore not a temple .We can make some guesses at the UpAsanaa Moorthy of Kurugai Kavalappan . His AchAryan was from Sottai Kulam ( ShadamarshaNa GOtram) and Lord KrishNa was the UpAsanA Moorthy for them . As a sishyar of Swamy Naathamuni and inheritor of Yoga Rahasyam from his AchAryan , it will not be surprising that Kaavalappan also had Aayan (GopAlan) of ThirukkOvalUr as his UpAsanaa Moorthy . He was many years at Veera NaarAyaNa puram , the birthplace of Swamy Naathamuni . Hence that koil at KaattumannArgudi near Chidambharam could also be the koil related to him . Kurugai Kavalappan was blessed with upadEsam on Yoga rahasyam by Swamy Nathamuni and was an expert in AshtAnga Yogam that leads to Bhakthi Yogam for Moksha Siddhi . He was born on Thai VisAkam and is the author of the Taniyan on MoonRAm ThiruvandhAthi of PeyAzhwAr . Hence if any remote connection has to be made about a temple dear to this AchAryan , it could be that of Aayan of ThirukkOvalUr . Another AchAryan comes from Thirukkuruhai ( Thirukkuruhai PirAn PiLLAn , the Jn~Ana putran of AchArya RaamAnuja) .He is the author of the 6000 Padi . Thirukkuruhai could be a village near Kaanchi in ThoNdai ManDalam . Thirukkuruhai PirAn PiLLAn was the son of AchArya RaamAnujA's uncle , SrI Saila Nambi ( Thirumalai nambi) , a great devotee of Thirumalayappan . Thirukkuruhai PirAn PiLLAn is the3 author ofthe Taniyan for the IraNDAm ThiruvandhAthi of BhUthattAzhwar .
