Guest guest Posted July 8, 2008 Report Share Posted July 8, 2008 ============================================================ Tamil Nadu Madurai Concerts to be held for one year RAMANATHAPURAM: The Tirumalai Tirupati Devasthanam and Sri Rama Bhaktha sabha (SRBS) will conduct music concerts on Saturdays and Sundays for one year to propagate Sri Annamacharya keerthanas. S. Narayanan, Founder of SRBS, said that while the devasthanam would sponsor the entire programme, their organisation would conduct 108 musical concerts at Sri Kothanda Ramaswamy Temple here. The inaugural ceremony would be held on Wednesdy (Seetha Kalyana Uthsavam day). T.S. Giri Prakash, Chairperson, School of Indian Languages, Madurai Kamaraj University, would inaugurate the programme. Mr. Narayanan said that it was part of the devasthanams decision to celbrate the 6th centenary of Sri Annamacharya throughout India. In the 14th century, h sang 30,000 songs on Perumal in Telugu.
