SrimathE Gopaladesika mahadesikaya nama:

Dearest all,

 

Parakala nayaki when seeing the very Lord Himself gets carried away with His

Parathvam and forgets that she was longing to unite with Him. She performs

anjali..

 

maivaNNa naRungunci kuzhalpin thaazha

magaramsEr kuzhaiyirupaa dilangi yaada,

eyvaNNa vencilaiyE thuNaiyaa ingE

iruvaraay vandhaaren munnE ninRaar

kaivaNNam thaamaraivaay kamalam pOlum

kaNNiNaiyum aravindham adiyum aqdhE,

avvaNNath thavarn^ilaimai kaNdum thOzhee!

avarain^aam dhEvaren Ranci NnOmE

 

thozhee - oh friend! The one who wishes to know and enjoy my anubhavam! Listen.

mai vaNNam – dark collyrium like colored

naRu kunji kuzhal – most fragrant dense tresses

pin thaazha- hanging beautifully at the back of the head

makaram sEr kuzhai iru paadu ilangi aada- the fish like ear studs swing both

sides shining and glittering;

yey vaNNam – with an arrow capable of being aimed at;

vem silai thuNai aa- with the strong bow;

ingE- at this place- where I am now talking to you;

iruvaraay- bringing another one with Him

vandhaar- came here in front of me;

(that time- what I saw is this)

kaivaNNam – the hands (palms)

thaamarai- were like the red lotus flowers;

vaay – the curvy mouth was like

kamalam poalum- the red lotus as well

kaNNgaLin iNaium aravindham– the pair of eyes is also like the red lotus

flowers

adiyum a:dhE- the lotus feet are also the same (beautiful red lotus flowers)

av vaNNatthu avar nilaimai- such a beautiful divine appearance as my nAyakan

(husband)

kaNdum – though I had seen such an enchanting appearance;

dEvar enRu anjinOmE- thinking that He is the very God Himself and I was afraid

of considering Him as my nAyakan.

 

When seeing the Lord’s exquistite unmatched beauty, sowndharya, laavaNya, and

His prowess (veerya, shakthi, thEjas), AzhwAr realized that He has to be Supreme

Lord and hence it was difficult for Parakala nayaki to consider Him as the

bharthA (husband). The AzhwAr first considered the Lord as Bhagavaan and slowly

transformed to the state of nAyaki to Him with an intense love for Him.. Thus

when the Lord appeared in front of her (nayaki), first she found herself going

back to the AzhwAr’s initial phase and hence could not mingle with the Lord

then and there immediately. That state is being addressed here in this verse so

beautifully.

 

His dark thirumEni is overshadowed by the dark black desne tresses that hang at

the nape of His neck.

 

If He comes alone, perhaps she would have considered Him as the husband. He came

as a pair along with another one.. (Lakshmana?)

Perhaps SitA PiraaTTi would have had such a state of mind seeing Lord Raama from

her palace. May be He is testing Parakala nayaki- if She is falling love with

the other one or the Him? He came in the front and His companion behind. He

stood in front of me.

 

The curly black long tresses;

the lovely ear studs that hang out till the neck;

the strong shoulders

and those lotus like palms;

the red lotus flowers were everywhere; right upto His lotus feet.

 

The limbs and the tresses and those red lotus like palms, mouth, the

Pair of eyes; lotus feet – were all mesmerizing me. Instead of falling in love

with Him, I performed anjali to Him considering Him as the very God Himself.

What could I do? The long cherished Parathvam and Lordship alone surfaced and I

forgot that He is my beloved nAyakan as well.
