Guest guest
SrI: Dear All : Sriman Sivaraman is a new Member of the Raama Bhakthi Group , which I have the BhAgyam to moderate . In the first week of his membership already , Sri Sivaraman is providing us great inspiration and links to great Musicians and NadhOpAsakAs . I welcome his choice inputs and focus on the links to great composers and Musicians . I have had the privelege of meeting Sangeetha KalAnidhi Madurai MaNi Iyer at Oppiliappan Koil KalyANothsava Cutcherys along with Sriman Vembu Iyer . He was accompanied by KumbakONam RaajamANicckam Pillai on the violin and Paalaghat MaNi Iyer on Mrudhangam . What a divine Music they created and served together as SamarpaNam to Sri BhUmi Devi SamEta Sri Oppiliappan during their Iypasi KalyANa Utsavam . The KaambhOji , the UmAbharaNam as well as the PoorNachandrikA Krithis of Saint Thyagaraja are still ringing in my ears . This great tradition has been preserved and grown by Sangeetha KalA nidhi Sri TVS gloriously . He is indeed the great torch bearer of Mathurai MaNi Iyer and His guru Sri Pushpavanam Iyer . I am glad that Sriman SivarAman is sharing great Musical Treasurers from his Library . I look forward to joining with him and writing commentaries on the krithis to bring out the great Bhakthi bhAvam/ Tattvams that our Musical Trinity and their descendants have blessed us with and make Raama Bhakthi group scale new heights in Bhagavath Bhakthi experience . Please become a Member of Raama Bhakthi group and cover krithis from BhadrAchala Raama Das and other great NadhOpAsakAs . I think we have 250 or so Members now and it will be good to have more contributing Members like Sriman SivarAman . You can become a Member by sending mail to RaamaBhakthi- and contribute to the growth of this site . Thank you Sriman Sivaraman , NamO NamO RaaghavAya anisam , Oppiliappan Koil V.Sadagopan P.S : Detailed anubhavam of Saint Thyagaraja " s Pancharatna Kritis are available for your enjoyment in http://www.sadagopan.org under the link " Naadha KusumAnjali " . - " T.M.Sivaraman " <sivaraman39 <RaamaBhakthi > Wednesday, August 27, 2008 10:11 PM [RaamaBhakthi] TVS: The Torchbearer of Madurai Mani Iyer's Musical School > > Here is my humble tribute to a great musician. It is my write-up on the > great musician along with a concert that he performed at Sankethi > Sangeetha Sammelana - 2007, uploaded today. > > > > > 1.T.V.
