Dearest all,

His thuzhaay garland, the coolness of the garland, the fragrance and the honey

dripping from the garland captivated my senses and sense organs. Could it be

brought from the aprAkrutha lOkam, Srivaikuntam i.e. Paramapadham- I wondered.

When I asked Him, He responded, it comes from His own divya desam Srirangam. He

had mentioned Thiruvaali for easy access in the earlier verse and now mentions

the #1 divya desam Thiruvarangam. Nayaki describes the way she saw and enjoyed.

uLLoorum sindhain^Oy enakkE thandhen

kaLL oorum – honey soaked and dripping

painthuzhaay maalaiyaanai – cool thuLasi garlanded Lord

kanavidatthil – saw Him at this transitory (non-permanent) place;

uL oorum chinthai pOi – the bhagavad vishayam that was happening and dancing

in my mind – such a disease

enaakkE thandhu – granted me that rarest blessing to me and me alone;

en oLivaLaiyum maaniRamum ingE koNdaar – unable to bear with it, my shining

bright bangles (wrist bands) and the beautiful color of my body (became paler)

– He snatched them away from me;

then oorum iLam thengin thERal – crystal clear honey from the coconuts are

drunk by

maandhi sEl ugaLum- the fattened fishes jump with joy (in cauveri)

thiruvarangam num oor enna- such a place Thiruvarangam is the place for Me and

you – said He; (when He responded thus, I asked Him)

puL oorum kaLvaa! – Oh thief! The One who rides on Garuda pakshi!

nee pOgEl – You don’t go away!

enban – I said.

enRaalum namakku idhu Or pulavidhaan – Though I had said that, this gives both

of us grief.

Lord's statement to Parakala Nayaki that Srirangam is the residence of you and

Me. His theft of Naayaki's bangles and her color. Nayaki begging Him not to

leave her

The honey dripping thuzhaay garland is cool and fragrant and even to see the

same is so freshening. Seeing Him and talking to Him was like the deram. Like

GodhA, perhaps AzhwAr (Parakala nayaki) had similar dream. Or it could have

really happened and He would have surely appeared in front of Nayaki and

responded. Since it happened in the middle of the street, it is not sThiram

(permanent).

I thought this is all dream. He responded saying the thuzhaay is very much comes

from Thiruvarangam. And also mentioned the greatness of Thiruvarangam. Even

fishes drink the coconut waters and get fatter and thus is the most fertile

place.

That is our place… namadhidam. It is our place- He responded. Saying that, He

climbed on Garuda and began to move. He did not bid goodbye. I only asked Him to

stay back, “oh thief _ kaLvaa! Don’t go awayâ€. He has stolen my bangles,

my beautiful color (and hence have become paler). Perhas He may have thought to

say, “If You don’t want to come with me, You may come stay back here in

Thiruvarangam (arthaiva srirangE sukhamAsva)â€. At least He could have given a

leaf from that garland. He has blessed me with this disease of pasalai nOi (of

being unable to bear His separation). For Gopa sthrees, at least there are very

many of them and hence they can share their grief and console each other. What

would I do alone? There is none like this here.

Oh friend! At least you are fortunate to be with me. You are able to realize my

pitiable state. Though you are not (yet) His nAyaki, You appreciate my grief.

You feel bad for me and understand the severity of the disease. Hence this

disease is applicable for both of us, unparalleled. What will I do?

Though all these happened in the past, Parakala nayaki addresses as if it is

happening in the present tense. Enban; kaaNban.
