Guest guest
Dear Sriman Srinivasan : Ghantaa MaNi is a very unusual name that was given by the great Scholar , Vaikunta Vaasi Sri Seva SwamigaL to His son out of His matchless reverence for Swamy Sri Desikan ( 1268-1369 C.E) . Ghantaa MaNi stands for the temple (hand) bell of Lord SrinivAsan's sannidhi at Thirumala. Swamy Sri Desikan is considered as a sacred avathAram of that bell to chase away inauspiciousness and spread the Bhagavad RaamAnuja SiddhAntham . Even today , there is no hand bell inside the sannidhi of Thiruvenkadamudayan for that reason . There are two huge bells outside the sannidhi near the dhvAra Paalakaas . Ghantaa means bell . MaNi means also a bell ( MaNi ringing during Bhagavad AarAdhanam) . Ghantaa is also the name of a very beautiful Raagam in Carnatic Music . Mani also means a precious gem . Ghantaa MaNi thus means the precious bell linked to the avathAram of Swamy Sri Desikan . The auspicious sounds emanting from that bell chased away false doctrines and established the unassailable Vedantic Doctrines on a sound footing for all of our benefits . The 56th ebook is a powerpoint presentation on Swamy Sri Desikan's avathAram as the amsam of the temple bell of the Lord of Thirumala and His divine works . Please refer to this ebook for a pictorial representation of Swamy Sri Desikan's Glories : http://www.sundarasimham.org Extensive coverage of Swamy Sri Desikan's stOtrams and Philosophical works are covered in English in other ebooks of the above Sundarasimham series and two more series of ebooks : http://www.ahobilavalli.org http://www.srihayagrivan.org A Major Web site on Swamy SrI Desikan will also be announced on Oct 9 by Sri Sridhar of Bangalore to celebrate this Year's Birth day ( Thiru Nakshatram) of Swamy Sri Desikan . My dear friend Sridhar is also the author of Chitra Desikeekeeyam , the Power Point Presentation of the Life of Sawmy Desikan .
